Would it be unconstitutional for a state court to hear the charges and evidence from the prosecutor against a state citizen, and then subsequently sentence the citizen to death without an arrest, or opportunity to provide a defense?

I'm really surprised that anyone said yes to this. Let's hope that they're never accused of something. It could be them.
