If you're going to BBQ chicken then you get BBQ'd chicken... Not grilled chicken. If you grill chicken you get grilled chicken, not BBQ'd chicken.

You can have a BBQ cookout and actually grill instead. I mean, no one should be arguing with grilling some steaks even if you are calling it a BBQ. Just don't say "Hey let's BBQ some steaks"

2 completely different things---- grill- quick cook of meat over hot fire of either gas or charcoal/BBQ- slow cook large piece of meat over charcoal

I use grill as either a noun or a verb. "Hey, honey, let's grill out tonight."

True. Grill can be either but BBQ is a verb to me.
