Who do you want to run for president in 2016?
Gary Johnson governor of New Mexico and Libertarian.
Jeb Bush! It's too bad the country is suffering from Bush fatigue; he'd make a great president.
Mine is no secret - Hillary
I've always loved condoleeza (even though she's stated she's not running) but I want Rand Paul to run with Ted Cruz. I kinda like Marco Rubio as well (for VP) and ill be able to vote by then so Ill actually get a say-so!!
Except I disagree with Rubio supporting Ammesty...
Judge Andrew Napolitano.
I really like him
because it worked so well last time
SNOOKIE FOR PRESIDENT
Rand Paul is my first choice. I'd also consider voting for: Ron Paul, Allen West, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson... Chuck Norris and Ted Nugent. :)
I think Ron is retired
I know. ;( If I could use the crying smiley, I would...
Ron's not retired - he just chose not to run for reelection to the house. The man is still extremely active.
Oooh I love Allen West!!
I think Ron has said that he will no longer seek the presidency, but I could be wrong.
What about Adam West?
Ron Paul and Gary Johnson ticket would rock
I think Ron is retired.
He is but would be awesome
Bob McDonnell of Va!
Rand Paul/Bobby Jindal 2016 ticket would be perfect, strong libertarians is what we need to fix this mess we have in America, we don't need moderates, moderates are those who can't make up there mind on issues, what we need is a libertarian or
Rather see Jindal as president!
Me too but, "what chance does a skinny dark skinned guy have at winning the presidency"
Jindal is straight!
He said guy not gay!!! LOL!
I know lmao!! I meant he is a good candidate! Hahaha omg best misunderstanding ever
Oh I've heard of her
Hillary and Michelle.
Yea, was only kidding though.
It would be interesting to see two women run together, but that is highly unlikely.
It would be really bad. They should just get back in the kitchen
Rand2016 had polls about the election only a few days ago. The Dem ticket ended up as Hillary/Liz Warren
I'm just saying its not that unrealistic at least if you listen to SoH users.
Crazy Joe! Always good for laughs!
Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Pence. No more "moderate" anything!!! If you believe in something stand or fall by your principles! Moderates too often = "what do I have to say to get your vote? Yeah. That." Phooey! Give me a Patrick Henry type!
How do you like Hillary?
My background/experience = she's untrustworthy. Had too many yrs to observe her too closely as a person. Outstanding politician = self-serving. We need "servant-leader" @ this juncture. She's incapable of that. Profoundly capable of appearing to, tho
If goal "more of same," definitely, Hilary. If goal Constitutional Republic, FedGov complying w/enumerated powers, etc. No. We need "Sons of Liberty" in every office @ this point.
No we need more moderates, and FYI Rand is a moderate, he only votes 84% of the time with his party, which is pretty bipartisan comparatively because everyone is so stiff and "Principled" that nothing gets done.
@ skinner what do you think of Christie?
As person she always makes me think of Emma Thompson in "Primary Colors." Every time I see her. She is "political animal," a good person, but driven for power. IMO, we've had enough of those for a while.
I like Christie, he's honest and bipartisan, we could use both those qualities in Washington.
Rand Paul is "Republican" by party affiliation. He is Libertarian by principle. The fact he isn't lock-step voting Party line demonstrates principal over Party & voting according to constituents over Party-pressure. Does not indicate "bipartisan."
Indicates independent votes on basis of principal. If "Republican" party demonstrated true "republican" principles in votes, would be more concerned. But they too often more problem then "other side of aisle."
Ya. I think Christie has a better chance though. He's liked by both sides
I have to disagree. Everyone is so extreme they can't get anything done. There are too few moderates. The extremists are destroying the parties and the country.
I'm with teach
Well, so far, we still live in "free" country so we don't have to hold same opinions. :-D ... yet.
How about Donald Trump
He is as good as the NSA. Why do we need the NSA when we have chuck Norris?
@ tomm Donald trump is nuts but I love him! He doesn't give two shits what the other person thinks. He's not politically correct that's for sure lol
Bill O'Reilly. Can you imagine him in a debate, lol. Have you ever seen him tell Bernie Frank that he was to blame for the Fannie/Freddie crisis, the fun starts after 2 min.
I love bill!
Hannity is better, but I like Bill as well.
I prefer bill. Hannity is pretty good
Jeff Boss right now but I really need to start doing my research on people more
I would love to see Rand Paul but I doubt he can win. I would rather have a candidate I like and who can win, than a candidate I love who's going to loose.
But why does everyone have that attitude about him? I think he's very capable of winning. He's one of the few republicans going to places most republicans won't go. Trying to open up the tent
Try find a democrat who likes him. I want a candidate who can win the general election.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him as president.
I got you I just think you and others are being negative already. Chris Christie is likable but does he really back the conservative message?
He's better than Hillary or Joe Biden and he has a chance in my opinion. I'm not the idealist when it comes to this. I take the practical view.
@ Tom oh he is definitely way better then those two clowns. I like him but I don't know if I like all his policies
Will this thought stop you from voting for him?
Yes exactly that's the point. I asked the same in another poll. Someone suggested Christie was not conservative enough then he would prefer Hillary.
It looks like it's going to be Hillary. But I would like to see Elizabeth Warren run.
Please tell me you're kidding. You live in Wrentham! How could you vote for someone not even from our state instead of your neighbor!
Warren would be just fine with me.
FYI I'm not a Scott Brown fan. I totally supported Elizabeth during the campaign. I move to Wrentham 5 years ago from.... Wait for this.... Brookline. Quite a political shock for me.
Same for me: moved from Brookline to central Mass. Different state (of mind).
Why do you like Warren she blatantly lied and said she was Cherokee and she is so partisan she will only contribute to our do nothing congress.
Well, she is part Cherokee, but she was not the one to make an issue of it.
Pt 2 I vote for what I believe in, as do you. The GOP offers nothing that I believe in, so even if I didn't like her, there is no feasible alternative. Markey is not my valentine, but I voted for him.
If you don't like any of the candidates you should run.
Do you think I have a reasonable chance of success?
I don't know you seem liberal enough haha. If a person disagrees with the representatives though it is their duty to run themselves, that's the best way to keep a vigilant democracy.
It's my belief that i shd help other people by doing what I do best. I've tried to do that professionally for a while. But anyway, I'm too liberal for Mass, & certainly for my area.
I would if I could
Yeah, except you're like 17 and won't be able to run for anything for a while.
Yeah true :(
Ops I read the question wrong I thought you asked Do you want to run for president in 2016 haha
I would actually like to see Hilary become president, but I wouldn't want my first vote to be for a democrat!
I'm reading a book about her and we have a lot in common! (She once was a Republican) And because I think it would be nice to see a woman become president
No! Don't say that! Don't say you would like to see a women or a black man or a Mexican run the country. Look at the person not their color and or sex.
This is exactly what I mean by Obama got many votes based on his skin color more then what he stood on
You really want Hilary based solely on he gender?
Not trying to attack misspresident but find the person that will benefit the whole country. Ppl don't get the fact for example my brother has been unemployed 4 times under this president taking lower end jobs. These elections are personal for all of
Of us! We must vote for someone who will create jobs and let the free market thrive. Giving Americans a hand up instead of a hand out!
Sorry! I'm kinda new to politics so I don't know what she'll do!
Why? Briefly, because I like candidates who are left of center and who have shown an ability to be successful representatives in govt. The GOP shows me little to nothing I support.
Rand Paul/Ted Cruz 2016!
Chris "biggie" Chirsty!
Chris Christie though a very progressive kinda republican is very likable. I could see him winning
Rand Paul, Dr. Ben Carson,
I like Ben Carson!
Oh no, not Sarah!
SRJ: Palin will kill the GOP stop it, stop it now
I like her. He asked who you would want to run. She's not going to anyways. Don't worry lol. Anyways..umm who else? Did I mention I like Rand Paul?
Yeah i like Rand
While both he and his father have a few original ideas that I like, he is very conservative and is supported by groups & indivs I don't like. Carson, the same, also his gay marriage views.
Martin O'malley, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden,.....clinton(?). I admire Cuomo for his attempt with the public transparency bills stuff and he's aware of fracking.
I like Joe! He's so funny! True fodder for late night!
I want to see Joe Biden debate Chris Christie. No need late night shows anymore.
In a fantasy world: Scott Brown
Realistically: Rand Paul
No! Brown is pro-choice!
Yeah, so what?
Ugh! He supports the killing of innocent lives.
To be honest political abortion and all social issues are of relatively small importance to me, I like that he is a bipartisan man who can appeal to both parties.
I don't want politicians to compromise their principles. That is what Brown did. He said he personally opposes abortion, but he does not think it is his choice to decide.
I think that's a reasonable opinion to have. Compromise is essential to democracy, no party is going to get exactly what it wants, it will never happen.
I value compromise, but it should not compromise one's principles. Brown's statement was frightening to me.
I actually agree, I would never advocate an ablation because its murder but who am I to tell others what to do
When it comes to social issues I'm for the rights of the people that do not infringe upon the rights of others, so I'm for gay marriage but against abortion.
Can you definitively prove that the fetus is alive?
Skinner: yes you can prove it. At 5 weeks, the child has a heartbeat. When a person loses their heartbeat they're pronounced dead. If a heartbeat identifies a "live person", then at 5 weeks, women have an actual live person(s) inside of them.
@steve: a fetus is not a person.
I would love to see Tom McClintock run but he won't. I would live to see Rand Paul run but he won't get through the primary.
I would be SO stoked if McClintock ran!!! But you're right. He won't.
I wanted Rubio, then he voted for the immigration bill, Rand Paul now! :)
We are in the same boat! However, Rand has not won me over yet.
We need to start fixing stuff. Bipartisan bills don't even get your support?
Not when I don't agree with them.
DOMA passed with bipartisan support, but it doesn't get your support.
No, it passed as a bipartisan bill. It fell as a partisan issue supported by the party neglecting 10% of the population. That's why 2016 will go blue again.
Hmmm! Right now I would say Paul Ryan. However he does have some baggage. He voted for TARP. Just trying to be fair and balance :)
Is that the best you can do? Lol
Yep! Not too many options! At least I want with a fiscal hawk. Lol
I was just picking on you for your comment against me lol
Yeah I know! I was just teasing! Sorry if you took it as an insult.
Gary Johnson or Rand Paul
I voted for Johnson last time. He seems like a good guy.
Christie and Clinton.
Wise choices for both parties. Could Christie make it through the primaries?
Probably not. His willingness to abandon party lines in order to better serve the people makes easy fodder for opposing rhetoric.
You're probably right.
