We even stop for turtles crossing the road. The curb gets the every time.

I agree with the plesiosaurus. Approaching even a tame animal who's injured requires heavy, bite-proof gloves, armcovering (jacket preferably, etc. My late cocker spaniel, Moose, strained his back once (he weighed 35 pounds!) and tried to jump up on

the waterbed as usual, but missed the jump and got hung up halfway on and off the bed. He was yelping in pain and I reached over to help him, and he grabbed my hand with the only thing dogs can grab with - his chompers! I ended up with a spreading

infection in my hand that I had to take strong antibiotics for, and a vascular surgeon having to monitor it closely so it didn't spread too far. Poor Moose had to live in a cage at the vet's for ten days until they were sure he wasn't rabid.

I always stop and help animal or human. Apathy is what is wrong with us as a society.
