A capybara.. The worlds largest rodent could be your next pet. If you want it to be. You may want to check the comments for the link before you lock in your vote.
Yeeeeees so cute !! I want one !!
Can he swim. The dog does. I wouldn't want him to feel left out.
It's cute but no I will do just fine with dogs
It's a giant mouse/hamster/squirrel
I can't click on the link because of the ad! AARRGGHH!!
Giant guinea pig! I love guinea pigs, but they are messy. Would I really want a giant one? I think not...
It's just so big. And ugly!
Oh you're giggling? Like a little girl giggles????
I'm just yanking your chain, it was meant to be silly so I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I just get those types of immature jokes. ;)
I bet you do!
The more I think about it, the less I want pets of any kind.
They're OK, I guess, but I don't see that they have anything to recommend them over beagles. The scent glands at both ends are a deal breaker for me.
My wife likes these, she wants to pet one. But then she also wants to pet those giant hairy bird eating tarantulas, and if we ever go to visit polar bears in the wild I'm literally going to put her on a leash.
Sounds like she would love a life size My Little Pony...
They are like those huge rodents from Princess Bride.
Haha yes! I hadn't even thought of that but you're so right!
Thanks, Emma. Couldn't think of the name.
Seen them in the wild. They're huge!!! No thank you!!!!
In the wild? Where the hell did you see that in the wild?! They're In south America no?
In the amazon rain forest during a trip to Peru... They're totally over populated because their natural predators, the camens (alligators), have been over hunted!!
Such a shame.
Rodents Of Unusual Size.
I'm pretty sure seeing one in the wild would freak me out!
Yikes. This sort of reminds me of that saying about being a grandparent....it is great to be a grandparent because you can go play/spoil the kids and then just go home. I wouldn't mind someone else having a capybara but it stays at their house.
I saw TV piece about Garibaldi's predecessor in the same family, Caplin Rous, maybe a couple years ago. Looked like an interesting animal to have around, but probably not what I'd want - has needs & maintenance time I couldn't provide.
No, just no. No way I would have one of those things as a pet.
What if your fiancé wanted to?
Not going to lie, I'd still say no. :-)
You really need to get him on SOH!
I'm trying to get him to download the app, actually! I've been trying for about a month now. :-P
Force him!! Say "no honey moon for you if you don't join" like any man, he'll come right around and download it. Hahaha.
Don't rodents have scent glands and issues with incontinence?
It would be too much like living in a college dorm again.
So they can't control their farts, or their fluids?
I love them! So cute!
They look like they should be able to talk. I'm not sure if you looked at the article, but there is a pic of one wearing glasses and it reminded me of Brian from Family Guy.
There was a family that had one and posted youtube videos of him a couple of years ago. He was hilarious, especially when she brought out a Popsicle for him. He's since passed on :(
I'm not even interested in having a guinea pig. A gerbil is about as large a rodent as I am willing to invite into my house. And let's be honest, I did that once and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I can't imagine living with a capybara.
I'm not sure if I want to hear more or not...
I misspoke. We had hamsters, not gerbils. And all was well for about a year, then one of them turned mean. Started biting us, nipped the tail clean off the other hamster. It wasn't fun.
I'm not suggesting you have a pack of capybara.
That would just be ridiculous..
I kind of wish I hadn't looked at the article.
It's one big rodent!
I hope I didn't just give you nightmares. I've always hoped to be in your dreams, but not like this.
What if they were super strong and you could ride it?
Those things are creepy rats. No way. I'd rather own a Brazilian wandering spider.
...::::: Googles Brazilian wandering spider:::...
Deadliest, most aggressive spider on the face of the earth.
I like cats - they don't get bigger than about 12 pound or so
Cats are alien spies. The capybara is the new ally to the dog in the galactic battle with the Prrrrrs.
No thanks. I happen to like my furniture.
I wouldn't mind having one of those as a pet honestly
In just going to stick with a dog
What if dogs were illegal. You need to pick. This, or a cat?
Easily cat. I like cats, but prefer dogs.
I know what that is!!! You can get any animal known to man on the black market.
Really tied into the gigantic rodent black market, are ya?
It's more of an obsession really.
That sounds awful and high matinencr.
How is it different than a dog?
You do make a point.
Thank you, exactly my goal with that comment.
I always thought they looked cute at the zoo, weird but cute.
It almost looks alien to me.
