Inspired by AnnaRose: To describe the evening meal do you use the word 'dinner' or 'supper'?

I've always just said dinner, don't know why in particular.

I say dinner more often than not but I also use it to describe the midday meal.

Did you ever read the boxcar children? They always called lunch dinner.

@ Sloan: yes I call lunch dinner oftentimes but people often get confused by that so I have to call it lunch too

@ Ocean: yes I've read the Boxcar Children, but I haven't read those books in years! I used to love them though

I usually say dinner also.

I too read the box car books. :) it was for school and this program we had to do until high school called Accelerated Reader (AR). We read books, took tests, and were required to score a certain # of points each six weeks.

My dad thought it would be cool to do summer school and it was a lot like this. I hated it too.
