Do you double-knot your shoe laces?
I only do it when my laces are too long. Now it hurts my hands too much to undo them if they're double-knotted.
I never have
I don't usually wear shoes with laces but when I do is for hiking or attending sports events and I do double knot because I don't want to spend any time tying those laces.
I only Double knot my shoes when I'm going to work, going on a run, or going to play basketball.
Really?!? Most don't? I'm shocked. I can't stand having my shoes come untied.
Then I tuck the ears into the laces
Not since I was 12.
Only if I need to
Where did Hitler keep his armies?
In his sleevies.
I don't... I have the shoes with the "stretchy material" kinda look like laces but there's nothing to tie at the end...
Couldn't agree more. It's the worst thing when you trip during a race cause you were too lazy to tie your shoes properly.
I run, so it's a habit. It's harder for me not to double lace my shoes than to do so.
How did Hitler tie his shoes? In Nazis.
Velcro. Slip-ons. Duct tape. Linguini.
FIAT google "terry moore how to tie your shoes", it's a 3-minute video on TED or YouTube. For an even better looking knot that is claimed to be even better, google "ian's secure shoelace knot".
If I don't, the my shoes always fall off
@cornybread yeah, white ugly sneaker type things that I usually see on Ehem, "old people". I guess the appeal is that they protect the feet and are easy to get on, but they don't appeal to me. They aren't hard to find if you loony around. In fact, I believe I've seen them in Walmart.
So what should we use then, like magnets?
Which video should I look for? I obviously didn't see the comment.
When I run in real shoes, I knot them like 6 times—or until there's nothing left to re-knot ;)
Only if I'm power walking or something. Not for a regular day.
Ive had too many untied shoelaces during cross country races. I triple knot, baby.
That's all I ever do.
Yeah but my second knot is using both the loops and the strings instead of just the loops because it makes it impossible for your shoes to untie
Especially while running. Not doing so is suicidal.
Not unless they are long, or i want to make sure they stay tied and on my feet
they feel more secure that way.
I haven't worn Velcro since I was 5 and had elmo sneakers. do they make adult shoes with velcro?
I triple knot!
Shouldn't that be the other way around?
My whole childhood every constantly said, "Tie your shoes." Then I started double knotting them and I still do.
Laces? That's so 20th century.
I had long suspected that many of the commenters on these polls wore Velcro shoes.
No, I used to just re-tie them five or six times a day, until a comment on the TED poll led me to the TEDtalk that taught me how to tie them correctly. Changed my life!
When I was eight I did, now I use Velcro.
My friend was mad at me the other day and he went to untie my shoe and he was like, "hahah... Crap! You double-knot!" and then i laughed
Oh I take that back. I do have a pair of lace up boots. I don't double know those.
The only shoes that tie are my running shoes. Yes, I double know them so I don't have to stop and do it half way through.
Not since I was 5. Great poll question Tony! You know how to pick em!
A true Texan!
Never heard of them but sounds awesome!
You thought everyone double knotted their shoes? That's so cute :-)
Yes, but only because I'm lazy and don't ever untie them. I just pull them on and slip them off
Can I google it, or did you make it up?
Learn the Ian Knot and you won't have to anymore.
I THOUGHT EVERYONE DID!?!? My childhood is ruined :(
I usually only wear my tennis shoes when I run and I double knot then.
