I don't usually wear shoes with laces but when I do is for hiking or attending sports events and I do double knot because I don't want to spend any time tying those laces.

I don't... I have the shoes with the "stretchy material" kinda look like laces but there's nothing to tie at the end...

FIAT google "terry moore how to tie your shoes", it's a 3-minute video on TED or YouTube. For an even better looking knot that is claimed to be even better, google "ian's secure shoelace knot".

@cornybread yeah, white ugly sneaker type things that I usually see on Ehem, "old people". I guess the appeal is that they protect the feet and are easy to get on, but they don't appeal to me. They aren't hard to find if you loony around. In fact, I believe I've seen them in Walmart.

Yeah but my second knot is using both the loops and the strings instead of just the loops because it makes it impossible for your shoes to untie

My whole childhood every constantly said, "Tie your shoes." Then I started double knotting them and I still do.

No, I used to just re-tie them five or six times a day, until a comment on the TED poll led me to the TEDtalk that taught me how to tie them correctly. Changed my life!

My friend was mad at me the other day and he went to untie my shoe and he was like, "hahah... Crap! You double-knot!" and then i laughed
