No, I can't even remember either of my parents ever voting.

My grandfather was involved in local politics, but that is it. It was special to me to see him win

Not really, she voted and watched the news and current events on tv but didn't really care for politics. Definitely republican though.

Yes and no. My parent were not involved in politics, but they did vote. They watch and listen to the news and they did encourage discussion about current events

Sorry, I don't know why it posted twice!

My guess is that MissPresident was.

No, I wasn't. My fascination with politics grew as I did.

Not at all actually! My parents know nothing of the subject and the only time the TV is on in my house is for movies and TV shows. I didn't even know the difference between a republican and democrat until last year!

Oh, wow. That's very interesting. Do you enjoy discussing the subject or are you just fascinated by it? :)

I'm inspired by it. Im inspired by the great leaders of the past and I want to be like them. I love America and want to help it flourish into the greatest country in the world!

That's very admirable and patriotic of you. :)
Do you plan on perusing a political career? Or maybe political science?

I would love to! but I don't know all the details of what the different parties believe (and it actually confuses me how the country could be so divided)

Well, how old are you? Have you done any actual studying on the subject? :)

I just turned 17 and I will be taking AP Gov this year. I haven't done much but I just got a volunteer job as a docent at the Ronald Reagan Library and I absolutely love it!

1) happy belated birthday
2) if you enjoy it... Research it, study it and get to know it! Even if you do nothing with it, the knowledge you gain is worth the trouble, in my opinion.

I've been doing so much research and reading a lot of books but it still confuses me and I don't know how to keep up on current issues

Really? Interesting. I am a big history buff and I love politics, so maybe it comes naturally for me, but I'm certain you can do it if you put your mind to it! :D

You still have time to decide! :) America is at a crossroads in history, there is a great need for politicians who actually have the interest of the Americans they serve, at heart.
