Would you want your son or daughter to pursue a career in politics?

Couldn't really choose a yes or no answer. I would support their decision if they made that choice. I think they would be better than what's out there now.

I wouldn't push them to do so, but if they wanted to I wouldn't object.

I don't believe anyone should pursue a CAREER in politics, but I would approve of my child running for & holding an elected office.

Local, sure. State, maybe. National, heck no.

If my child truly wanted to pursue a career in politics, I would support my kid.

We need more good, honest, hard-working, intelligent, sensitive-to-people's-needs people in politics. Those terms describe my kids. So if they choose to take a lead in solving problems through political positions, I'd cheer them on.

If that was their true calling, but I'd rather they did something respectable. I really see politics as a brief period of public service between jobs, not a career.

I agree. I would be happy if my kids engaged in some form of public service. "Service" and "Career" don't mix well.

Yes, if they felt strongly about it.

I would hope they wouldn't stay in that career too long though.

A career? Yes, that would bother me. If they sought elected office, I would be proud, so long as they didn't try to make the ruling of others their life's work.

I've taught my kids to be honest, hardworking, and trustworthy...so they would make horrible politicians.

But if that is what they choose, then so be it.

It is interesting that in the poll 64% of people said they wouldn't want them too. I was surprised by that.

That's what they wanted of course I would support it. It be nice to have them get involved instead of complaining and never do anything about it.

Unless they run on the right. I would be thinking "WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!" Jk, for all the conservatives about to jump on me.

It wouldn't bother me. I would support whichever career they choose.

Idealistically, no.
If they wanted to, I would certainly support their endeavors.
