Did the United States have a hand in the Egyptian military coup?
I hope not, I don't want us to do stuff like this. It can backfire sooner than we think.

In fact, US government officials are furious over the change of regime, Obama's already released a statement, and oil has jumped $2 more a gallon.
It's not like we were always 100% behind Morsi, but in the eyes of oil-backed politicians even a louse is better than a military coup that threatens American oil interests
(i.e. a main reason we keep playing social worker overseas)
Also, Mursi was a staunch supporter of the Syrian rebels, which was good for us.
