Do you know much about your great grand parents?
A great great was a Civil War widow who died a couple weeks shy of her hundred third birthday.
Just my great grandma. She passed when I was 18 or so. We had many good times together including a few in the casinos.
He whipped my grandfather and his siblings until they bled, didn't appreciate education, charged my grandfather rent, and he was a businessman. That's all I know.
I personally knew two of my great grandmas. And I know quite a bit about the stories of my other great grands. I have the postcard collection and WWI commendations for my mother's father's dad. It's really special to me.
i know some things from things my parents have said. for instance, my grandmother's father was in the italian mafia in Pittsburgh, along with my great uncles on that side. my mom is so embarrassed by that, lol.
I do, but only on my mom's side.
I know more about my mom's side than my dad's, but I know a fair amount about both.
That is great rlands
Yeah it's really nice. I've gone through their pictures and their stuff; learning about them is a way to bond with my grandparents, too :)
My grand parents died when I was young, and I never really got a chance to know them.
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I'm very lucky to have mine still. I hope your parents told you all about them.
Not really, one of the reasons I ask the questions, wonder what my grand kids will say about me.
You should ask about them. I've travelled to some of my great grandparents homes, which was so amazing, but even just talking to my parents about them is nice too.
A little more complicated than that, parents aren't around either. I could research, but not really that interested. Is that bad?
No it's your choice. I'm sure you have some family to talk to about it; aunts, uncles, cousins. I'm sure they would love to tell you what they know. But if you aren't interested, no worries.
Yes. My great grandparents on both sides lived until I was in high school.
That is awesome
Yeah. They were all around 99 when they died. I'm very lucky.
99 is amazing, you are lucky, as were they to have seen you grow
Without looking it up, not even their names.
