I just added an AR-15 style adjustable stock, with pistol grip, to my standard Remington 870 shotgun. No changes were made to ammo capacity. Cosmetically, it looks much scarier than it did, but would you consider this to be an "assault weapon" now ?

Depends on whether or not you assault someone with it and naturally, what they were doing to invite the assault.

Totally defensive , but I've always said my home is protected by The Lord, and a gun...if a person breaks into my home, they are likely to meet both ! I will protect my family ...

No but I don't know butkis about guns except that my hubby likes and has them. I'm going to get my own pistol and hubby is going to teach me how to shoot properly.

It's similar to the comments I got today. I just got an FN five seven with the twenty round magazine. She said. Why do you need 20 rounds? That makes it an assault weapon. I said there's no such thing. It's a small caliber pistol.

My reply that question usually is "why do you need third trimester abortions? shouldnt you be able to make your choice in the first 20 weeks."

No, but Nancy Pelosi and a bunch of other whackos think so.

If its not selective fire, it's not an assault weapon.

I personally do not think of this as an "assault weapon" , there is really no such thing in my mind...but many of my friends have asked me why I turned my standard shotgun into a military style gun...so that's the reason for the question !

Plus, I like having the pistol grip...

Exactly. No such thing as an assault weapon. My weapons don't assault people.

I agree eagle ! This is a personal preference thing for me...plus if it looks scarier to a bad guy trying to break into my home, that's a plus too ...

Haha. Yes. I think all the tactical stuff looks cool. I've got a foregrip, red dot sight, and a flashlight on my AR.

I want to get the tactical flashlight mounted on this...if I ever have to use it defensively, I would like to see where I'm shooting ...

You changed it so when you need it, you won't be banging the stock against the door frames and walls while running to chase off a bad guy.

Good point comppete, it does make it easier to maneuver through the house. Although I have other weapons, this is my "go to" weapon for home defense. It stays near my bed at night

I have a Mossberg, but I haven't modified it yet. I keep my Glock 30 SF next to the bed.
