Big Thanksgiving meal: before or after 3pm? (UQ)
We usually eat around 4:30
Old people don't get it.
We always have it at noon. I know- it's pretty early.
I like it at 3 or 4, but we're doing it at 2pm because my mom decided she wanted to and it's at her house.
I'd like to do it after three, but my mom's side of the family is weird and super-anal about these kinda things.
And a weird one at that.
It's thanksgiving DINNER. Therefore I prefer it happens around an appropriate dinner time. Somewhere around six sounds great. :)
I know someone who had thanksgiving dinner a month early - her husband is Canadian.
Nope the Pats will win. Easily
Turkey makes you tired. That's a fact. Just eat at night like normal people. Then relax and watch the Jets beat the Patriots
So what accounts for the big disparity between most folks and the under 21 set and the democrats being more inclined than the majority to eat after 3...? Interesting - odd... but interesting!
At around 3 sounds about right
Actually exactly 3
We usually have it at 2:30 then we rest a little bit and then eat dessert around 3:30 then we are miserable for the rest of the night.
Before 3 is lunch........
HA that's an awesome way to look at it m
I have it for lunch, then leftovers for dinner. And again the next day.
it's usually at 3pm..so all the football fans sit in the kitchen so we can watch the game...then sleep through the next one lol
It is... But that way you get to enjoy leftovers the same day!
Before. Get to enjoy my food coma better.
Am I the only one that sees 3 as ridiculously early...?
I don't have the big meal, so whenever I'm hungry, I eat.
We have ours at 3. So after?
3 PM scheduled, the late ones arrive at 3:30, with the appetizers, usually eat at half time second game!
I've already eaten a thanksgiving meal this past weekend :)
Do they know you well enough to add bacon to the stuffing?
I visit friends that know me well enough to NOT place time constraints on me. SO, I usually show up during PRIME football viewing times! This generally happens before AND after 3:00p.m.!
Party split?? Weird
We usually aim for a 2:00 dinner (in the South the big meal of the day is "dinner"). I love having it midday because there's not much time to get too hungry before, plenty of time for a nap afterward, and the leftovers come out about 8:00--YEAH!
We don't eat til 5 or 6. But the wine bottles are usually open by 3...
Where is the "both" button????
We go to my side of the family before 3 and my wife's side after...
If my family ate at 2 I'd have to eat a 2nd dinner around 8
We like to start around 2:00, so that we still have time for playing games, etc. before getting too sleepy.
Right around 3 I think.
Both, I go to my family's dinner at 11:30, and my wife's family dinner at 4
We usually at AT 3pm.
I usually finish cooking around 12 then we have a sit down dinner. Then all day the greedy people go graze.
Always around 2pm
2 PM was always meal time at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then we enjoyed leftovers later in the evening. If you eat later, you don't get to have that joy of sharing a second meal with the family.
All day. Start stretching the stomach early lol .
We are planning on 3:00 pm this year.
Hey just think, double the food on thanksgiving and two Christmas'!
We eat at 3 PM.
We always aim for 3 but ends up at 4 for so reason
Both...as my parents are divorced and I have two Thanksgivings to go to. Wish this weren't the case, but, alas. ;)
if you eat before 3pm then it's not thanksgiving dinner... it's like, thanksgiving lunch. we always have a cheese board and antipasto in the afternoon then we eat in the evening around 6 or 7.
