Ladies, I need your help. My wife and I will be celebrating our 12th anniversary in a few months. I am considering a week-long trip to Hawaii. But, diamonds are a womans best friend. Which would you choose? (share your thoughts too)

They say money doesn't buy happiness. "They" are wrong. It all depends on what you spend it on. Tangible items are nice, but do not mean as much as memories, or something you can look back on. Hawaii is a beautiful state and a fitting investment.

I know, I am no lady, but my Wife does not care for baubles and shiny things. She would much rather go on a MEMORABLE trip with her loved one. I have offered to buy her diamonds and other jewels and She says no every time.

Definitely Hawaii. I have both amazing diamonds and multiple Hawaii memories. Definitely Hawaii.

p.s. a trip says you want to spend time with her, which is priceless.

As an older woman, I would say take her to Hawaii. Jewelry is nice but the trip with you would be a lot more meaningful

Hawaii, definitely. It's so much more worth it; and you'll have the memories of it for years to come. And congratulations!!

Hawaii for sure. Lasting memories for the two if you together in a magical place will last longer than any diamond. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Personally, I would prefer the trip. Gives me something enjoyable for the money spent! (I'm not the type for large purchases of material goods though.)

I'll always pick an experience over a thing.

First off, congratulations on the twelve years! That's just beautiful. Secondly, it really does depend on your wife. Does she love to travel? Have you two ever been to Hawaii? Or does she love rings? I mean, you're right, a diamond ring is ..

... Always a beautiful and nice gift and I'm sure she would love it, but if she loves to travel, go for the trip. I'm sure not matter what you choose, she will love either one! :-)

That totally depends on your wife and whether she prefers material mementos or memories of shared experiences.

Personally, I would be very happy with either. My husband and I celebrated 12 years last January with dinner in a nice restaurant.

I wasn't complaining, mind you. It was a lovely dinner. We'll do something extra special for our 20th.

She has the diamond on her finger. Unless she's a girl who really loves diamonds, the Hawaii trip will mean a lot more.
