Which is the MOST important facet of the idea of America, diversity? Or liberty?
Think is right, diversity is a product of liberty. All men are created equal.
With liberty you get diversity. Some people will do well some will do poorly. People could succeed in whatever interests them.
The existence of diversity implies the existence of liberty. The two are far too intertwined to separate them.
Diversity is dependent on liberty. Liberty results in diversity of opinion, and creativity in enterprise. If diversity is the fruit, liberty is the tree.
I think you are right and I think I am too. Each depends upon the other.
Liberty, of course.
But I don't think that a liberty which doesn't embrace & encourage diversity (e.g. Jefferson's "umbrella of protection") is much to be admired.
See my comment just above. ;)
"Give me liberty or give me death!"
The diversity this country offers is great but we were founded on liberty.
Diversity is not in itself a virtue. Liberty is.
And explain yourselves, please.
Is this about the comments on me getting mad at ppl who say no? Lol
Why yes! I just wanted to see if people actually understand that without liberty, there is no diversity. Look at Nazi Germany and Communist Russia. No liberty, and no diversity.
Looks like Tennessee is still not convinced yet. *facepalm*
