Taking monarchies and autocracies into comsideration, yes. Our government is a reliable and trustworthy one. Many minds working together to regulate one another prevents drastic crazy decisions being made, even if it makes things slower.

As a whole, yes. Despite the sensationalism, our agencies are typically very efficient and effective. I don't think our branches of government are very reliable anymore.

Heres what I don't understand....if these results fairly represent the views of the American people-that we truly don't trust the government-then why do we keep voting in ways that give them more power? It's just completely illogical & absurd.

The Bush administration was corrupt and I lost my faith in the government. That was until Obama came along and I thought finally the damn lobbyist won't taint his mind. Boy was I naive so no I have lost all utter respect and faith in our government!

Buuwaahahahaahhh!!! You're joking, right? The only thing more ridiculous than the ethics of politicians is the denseness of voters who could even make twits like Anthony Weiner a leading candidate for Mayor. Puuhhhlleeeeze!

On the whole, including cops, teachers, firefighters, and the brave people in the military, yeah I do. The majority of govt workers are just folks like those trying to do a good job and help out. It's the elite up top I don't trust, but they're the minority, even though they have most power.

Throw them all out! Set term limits! Lower their pay to the national average! Stop all lobbying (make it a felony 25 year prison term) AND NO RETIREMENT OR BENEFITS! Then,
Lets see who really wants to run for office.

I think people should govern themselves. Only they would know what's good for them. The Feds just interfere

I believe in the government as a whole, it's the politicians I have trouble with including Obama, McConnell, Rand, Pelosi!, etc,etc

Why is it that I can predict Republicans' responses with 80-90% accuracy? And it's almost invariably the option that is most clearly anti-government/anti-science/xenophobic?

I view the government as irrelevant for the most part. I see this country slowly splitting into 9 separate nations. I got this idea from a book called The Nine Nations of North America.

Until we see a govt interested in serving the PEOPLE & not lobbyists & campaign fund raisers, i say a HUGE NO. Term limits for all & campaign finance reform are desperately needed & maybe the politicians would listen to constituents for a change

The only part of the government I trust is the military. Not the military-industrial complex; the *military*. The guys and gals who took an oath to defend the Constitution at all costs.

No after this administration is over a complete overhaul of ever department. As General Patton said you can't be in the Army and be political. So no more activist government employees.

Our representatives are more focused on gaining the approval of their political party than their constituents. We need a party free system, no national platforms, and term limits for all.

Of course dems trust the government. Their man controls the White House. Reverse would be true if we had a republican president.
Some people would just blindly follow their party over a cliff.
How sad.

The government is way to big on both the Federal and State levels. Our elected officials on both sides are only interested in the power that WE THE PEOPLE have TEMPORARILY given to them and they in turn pay back special interest groups instead of...
