Are you bothered or annoyed whenever someone misuses a word (there vs. their, your vs. you're)?
Only if the misuse is in advertising, signage or any other publication. I feel like they're setting a bad example.
That's the one that bugs me.
No it does not bother me, AutoCorrect can be the Culprit, Also, especially on this website, I am trying to Get the cursor to go where I want and hit submit. if you can read it and understand what they're trying to say who cares..
Probably much more than I should be, but I can't help it. It drives me nuts!
Can't help it...it's the teacher in me.
Even though I pick on mistakes out of fun - and my intention is fun - I understand that online discussions are a haven for such errors. Fast posts lead to no proof reading and autocorrect is no friend on a discussion board.
No, everybody makes mistakes.
I am very forgiving
No. I think most of us know the correct usage; it just happens sometimes. Especially with autocorrect. It would be different in more formal writing - or even news articles online. Those people are supposed to be journalists, but I've seen dumb stuff.
Mostly bothered when I do it by accident. It's like, "come on, Self, you know better!"
Exactly! Or when autocorrect turns into a grammar troll...
Yes... It makes me want to correct them. It's such a simple thing to do, but there are certain underlying reasons why some people can't differentiate.
Like sleeping during class?
Haha, I guess that's one of them. Dyslexia and other learning disabilities are a few others.
