When you finish a recyclable water bottle, do both the cap and bottle go in the recycle bin or cap in trash, bottle in recycle?

I used to separate, but now I'm in the habit of recycling both. I'm not sure which is proper.

They say to separate but both are plastic. What's up with that? I spend hours everyday going over that in my mind. I need an answer.

I'm thinking maybe they are considered to be different #s on the recyclable scale? Or maybe they just add weight so they have to pay out more ;) idk..

Yup. They are made from different types if plastic and melting points are different. I don't have time to read the whole thing, but I enjoyed the first part.

Nice investigative work, my mind is finally at rest. Now what can I worry about.
