Would you be ok with your child having a tracking chip in him and/or her just in case she/he is abducted or gets lost?

As long as I/my family has control of it. Maybe the police but that's all.

That is the scariest thing I've ever heard.

Well I was trying to think of the idea...I was seeing if it will sell

In one if their belongings, sure, but in them, hell no! That's creepy!

It sounds good on the surface, but the problem is hacking. I mean, realistically, someone could hack a modern day pacemaker and kill a person. If someone found a way to hack these, then it could be bad news for a lot of kids. Makes me uneasy.

Not surgically implanted, I have the tracking receiver. No other person or govt organization gets it.

I don't know. It sounds like a great idea on the surface in case something tragic happens.

That's what I kinda think too..I mean if it was a company in charge or maybe even yourself like how we have iPhone trackers

Yeah, we have a tracker on our car that we can look at online at anytime. That would be great. the problem is when would you tell your kid, hey, uh guess why you have? Lol. That wouldn't be a fun time.

Ya lol. It's kinda a creepy idea though

I would never let my parents do that. If the kid wanted it, that's another story. But what happens if they want it removed?

A friends of a friend's daughter went missing. Very bad outcome.

Her name was Brooke Wilburger. There were a lot of stories about this on TV.

Yeah, that happens, it's horrible. I still wouldn't want to have "Find my iPhone" functionality on a living person. Perhaps a removable, small, device they implant in their shoes or hidden in an earring.

Ok..I have a serious question to democrats. Not putting you down but any question that comes around with giving up your info etc you're ok with..why is this?! Lol

Somebody actually told me my oldest son reminded them of the "Ransom of Red Chief" The nerve of some people.

I would not ask them to do it. Serious invasion of privacy. But if they decided after hearing pros, cons & discussing with us, I will support them. I believe if properly explained & discussed, kids can make right decisions that need to be respected.

No - now it's time for me to be paranoid - can you imagine what the government could do with THAT information

Even if a separate company was in charge of it or yourself maybe? Like when we put tracking chips in our animals?

No - do you remember the TV show the West Wing? They successfully predicted that the "next decade" - now - would be about privacy rights - I think we have to be REALLY careful about what we are willing to give up in the name of security.

And last time I checked - Verizon was a separate company
