Can a person subscribe to both science and religion or are they so incompatible that a person must choose between them?

I know that many religious people pick and choose which parts of science to accept, which is kind of hypocritical.

I know a lot of science people who do that too.

Darwin, Newton, Galileo... All were very religious & it was their religion that inspired them to seek a deeper understanding of the world.

I believe they are compatible. We humans just know every little about the whole scope of things.

I had a science professor in college who told the class he believes in creationism. It's possible.

They're compatible unless one takes creation stories in a religion's texts, in particular, as literal truth.

Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health & former head of the government arm of the Human Genome Project, is a prime example.
