Any big plans for the up coming 4th of July weekend?
I'll be flying to Italy. :-)
partay with my sis's boyfriend's fam! bringing a friend and will enjoy swimming and fireworks! can't wait!
My family is always at our condo at the beach for the week of the fourth:) my dad grills pork steaks. My cousins, family friends, and grandparents are here too. It's great! We watch fireworks on the beach at night:)
phish 3 day set at SPAC!! can't wait
Standing guard over my place with a bucket and a hose since by then it won't have rained for a week and will be way too dry to be setting off bottle rockets and mortars. But the neighbors will anyway.
I am thinking going to NC, strapping Longhorn1 to a picnic table and shooting bottle rockets from his anus.
So basically the same thing I have done for the last 5 yrs.
I thought you're going to come out here and play on the sand dunes and go fishing!
Neighborhood party (10 years running): water balloons, pot luck, fireworks, and tons of KIDS!!
Long live community!
Hopefully get trashed, watch fireworks and do things to the wife that are illegal in Alabama.
Maybe all at once.
Don't forget the lube. And permission....
Probably a cookout and some backyard shooting.
Week long family reunion. And my dads birthday is on the fourth, so that's always fun
You mean other than trying to keep the neighbors from blowing up my car?
A four day weekend. BBQ and BOOMS!!! :)
celebrating rj's birthday?
Really not doing anything. Feel free to invite me and my son to your parties lol
If you lived here, I totally would.
COME TO MY POOL PARTY MISSY!!!!
I'm either going to Gatlinburg, Nashville, or Cincinatti.
Gatlinburg is beautiful!
Fireworks on the lake in the pontoon. Tradition every year, just now it happens that we live here. FINALLY! Shorter distance home.
I am watching the TV show "Untold Stories if the ER" There's some pretty interesting stories there. Which department do you work in?
On the show some guy got up and personal with an opening on Coleman Camp stove. He sort of had to carry the stove in front of him. Two of the attendants actually passed out.
Oh good lord. There are an amazing amount of patients that come in with foreign objects...there....you'd be surprised at how many.
One of my friends is a nurse instructor. She said there's some pretty good stories she could tell, a few lightbulb ones.
He did the inserting on this one though.
If I still have my eyebrows on the 5th, you know I didn't have a good time.
LOL - that is something my husband would say
Pics or it didn't happen. (No really....it didn't happen....) :-p
My husband and I want to do an overnight trip but can't decide where to go.
Haha come to my pool party!!!! I finally decided on a menu!
I'll grab my bikini! :)
Oops...that may have been a bad mental image to put into anyone's mind!
Haha oh no! You're beautiful so I wouldn't worry about it one bit!
Work work work.. And we're gunna be swamped..
I am not jealous of that, I will be throwing a pool party but I've been worried about what to make for days and I finally decided so I can breath freely again!
Where do you work Frowner - restaurant or something?
The view is amazing! Wow! Now I am a little bit jealous :(
Wow that's beautiful!!
The restaurant is on the 8th floor.. I work at one of if not THE nicest hotels on Clearwater Beach.
Is that the ocean or is it a Bay it's pretty calm. We lately ate at a restaurant on the bay here last night.
Very nice - I'm going to tuck that piece of info away for future reference. You'll be busy - but I bet it will be fun. Will there be fireworks over the water?
That's the Gulf. If you look at Clearwater on a map, its a little island on the gulf side of Florida.
I've been to Clearwater and it was gorgeous! The water was just beautiful and super calm, very fun beaches there, it was like one huge party
I was just gorgeous. We ate the Mill casino in North Bend but it's on Coos Bay.
It was gorgeous not me.
I'm not sure about fireworks. It's supposed to be rainy, so we'll have to wait and see what's up.
Going to some good friends house In WV. Partly because they are an absolute blast to be around and because one of them is not in good health. Thursday morning couldn't possibly get here quick enough.
Bonfire on the beach!
That sounds like fun - I've never been to a Bon fire on the beach
Not sure. My wife has to work that day.
And it's my birthday.
It's Shelly's husband Fourth of July Julie's and mine also.
Well Happy (early) Birthday!!!
Lots of 4th of July babies - your welcome to join us
Thank you so much.
Are you doing anything special to celebrate your birthday/Independence Day?
Goin camping with family!
Great Wolf lodge is my favorite up there. Used to take our boys when they were young.
I'm staying at the Wilderness Condo's. 3,000 sq. ft.
The whole family is excited. We've never been.
I bet so! It will be great fun.
I will be hosting a pool party on Thursday and I am very excited about it but I have been freaking out over what to serve. Obviously I'm going to do a barbecue but I don't know if I should do drum-sticks or beef kebabs and I also need to decide what
Way side dishes and salads to make. I want to keep everybody happy but I don't want to lose my mind in the process
Even though we do chicken and tri tip (which is a beef roast - I know they don't have it in the whole country by that name) - I don't do the cooking. If I were cooking for a pool party I would do hotdogs and hamburgers with Mac salad and chips/dip
I was thinking of making this South African salad with black beans, hearts of palm, red onion, cilantro, cherry tomatoes (even though I hate raw tomatoes) with lime and olive oil. I make an awesome potato salad with lemon and olive oil instead of
Instead of mayo and then something with avocados. But none of those incorporate any sort of red, white, and blue theme so this is where I get torn
I could always just do themed drinks and desserts and just keep the actual meal part normal, right? I'm probably worrying over nothing because I think I'm just going to make exactly what I just described, and I should just do both chicken and beef
Corn chips and guacamole perhaps? Ooh or I could do some sort of salad with beets, avocados, and goat cheese. Ok I think I have decided on a menu finally!
Honey themed drinks sound great - and you can't go wrong with chicken and beef - like I said - that's what we do. The salad sounds really good and interesting - like something people didn't have last night for dinner - you know???
Sounds great Nizabelle. What time should we all show up? :)
Haha exactly! I like to do the food a little differently from the norm so that it stands out and so everybody can try new things without being too risky. Thanks for talking me through this, I've been freaking out over what to serve all weekend
And you're right about the burgers, burgers are awesome and everybody loves them
Your welcome Niz - you'll have a great party
Haha you can absolutely join us! Be here around 1:30 :)
Niz, I love party food that you can grab a nibble in passing. A favorite simple "toothpick" dessert: pile on a plate a box of frozen mini cream puffs & a jar of drained maraschino cherries. Drizzle some of the juice over it and dark chocolate syrup.
You can add blueberries for the color theme.
I know but I'm not good at making little foods, I figure I'll just set up a buffet type of situation and everybody can eat either outside around the pool, I have plenty of tables, or go inside to the air conditioning.
And that sounds yummy!
That's a good idea for dessert and I can make all of the desserts small enough to incorporate a toothpick probably
Who the hell's making you work on Independence Day? Weak sauce!
Someone needs to answer 911
Nope. I haven't even looked to see which day the 4th falls on. As far as I know, it'll just be another day. But with loud noise in the evening.
More like: has no life.
We were going to go inland but it's to hot. My husband and daughter might go might go, but I'm going to stay home and enjoy my nice cool weather.
Tops - your lucky - we live in the tree so it's usually cooler - but this heat wave is effecting us - its 98 right now - so it is probably 105 down town
The forth us my husband's birthday so we have a big BBQ - about 50 people - chicken, tri tip, about 20 different salads, guitars, and fireworks - lots of fun
Everyone is welcome
Your all invited
That sounds like so much fun!
