If you had the choice to murder the infant Hilter and no change (apart from the horrible murders he helped inflict) in history, would you?

Hitler was just the face of something that was going to happen anyhow because of WWI sanctions against Germany.

No. I wouldn't attempt to tinker with history.

I said no because in the realm of fantasy where this would be possible it's too far a stretch to think that NOT murdering 6 million people wouldn't bring some change.

I'd probably take out the founder of Eugenics first. Without this, the evilness of Hitler and the intent of his declaration of war on Europe completely changes.

Yes, I wonder how this whole marriage debate would be then.....

I'd do it without hesitation. And take the burden of murder onto my shoulders if it meant 1 of the people he ordered killed survives.

I wouldn't kill him. I would steal him and raise him to be a good man.

True. If maybe he hadn't been abandoned and felt like a failure his whole life, he might have turned out differently.

I wouldn't be able to kill a baby anyway, no matter who he would grow up to be.

Are you saying the uncalled for deaths of millions of people was worth the lesson?

Guys he does have a point, medically we learned a lot from the experiments the riecht ran.

The 3rd reicht did advance science but I don't think it was worth the deaths.

I've watched enough sci fi movies to know that altering a timeline never comes out well.

I couldn't kill a baby. :/
Can I kill him as an adult instead? That I could do. I know this is a hypothetical question, but there's no way this wouldn't change history. All these additional people would be alive and have offspring...

You don't know for sure that it would have changed everything. Fascism was sweeping across Europe. Anti-semitism has a long history before the nazis. The Weimar Republic was susceptible to being overthrown. Germans were still pissed about WWI.

I feel like people would want this to be an easy solution but it was much more multi-faceted then killing hitler. He was the face of the regime not the whole regime itself.

I think you are putting too much into this. While I agree that it's impossible to predict the effect, I think this question is as simple as could you kill someone to prevent mass murder

You're right. And in that regard I don't know. It'd be tough to kill anyone, let alone someone like that.

It's an interesting dilemma. It's sort of a preventive death penalty. Anyone who's against the death penalty should be challenged by this.

Idk if you watched lost, but they dealt with this same problem when the traveled in time. Save a kid that would grow up to be a murderer or let him die. Obviously the show wouldn't have made sense if they killed him but it was intriguing.

No haven't seen it but I can see how it's intriguing.

We cannot objectively know how that would change history, bad idea.

Self defense and defense of others. I don't know what to say to the other folks.
