I just saw a budlite commercial of Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen talking about the wage gap between women and men. Do you think that that the wage gap is real?
It's not fake but it is highly exaggerated. The reason it exists it is predominantly due to women's career/lifestyle choices. However in many fields there is a 3 to 5% gap that is unexplained that could be due to sexism.
Interesting fact... on average women earn more than men in the field of respiratory therapy.
The fact that most people said fake is really upsetting and sexist!
How is it sexist to speak out about a myth?
That's a "proud liberals"argument. The myth was debunked along time ago showing the reason there is a gap is because of jobs women take, hours worked, and hierarchy in the workplace.
I dont think it is a myth. There are women who work the same job for the same amount of time!It IS sexist and it IS sad that people think its a myth.I respect that you have a different opinion though, even though I may disagree with you. Thanks for replying!
Well you are denying facts.
It is a fact.Women dont have it as easy as some think.
Of course people with different jobs/hours will have different incomes, but men and women, who work the same job, same number of hours, should be paid the same.Sorry if I wasnt clear.
What if the man clearly does a better job than the woman at the same job and same hours? Should he not get paid more for that?
