Would you be in favor of the United States establishing a year of compulsory military service for all its citizens?
I support some sort of community/national service, but not limited to the military.
Switch the yes and no buttons
Absolutely not needed.
Half of all "libertarians" voted yes, wtf
I figured out a very long time ago that a good number of people on this app who have labeled themselves as "libertarian" either don't know what the ideology stands or, or it's what they wish they were.
I blame the switched answer choices.
I don't.. I've never noticed a correlation between being libertarian and having a tough time with reading. Although, who knows.
Only military service? No. Some form of national service? Yes.
I refer you my 13th amendment rights. Thanks!
Fuck no. That would seriously undermine the strength of our military.
No. It goes against the principles of this nation.
It's been done before and the nation survived.
Nope. I'd be in favor of encouraging some form of service, but it could be any of a number of different forms. But not compulsory.
If the year after you finish high school was devoted to military service, these young adults would be far more equipped for college or starting their career. The discipline, dedication, team work, integrity, honor and overcoming difficult situations are fantastic skills you don't learn in school or first full full-time jobs. I didn't join until well after school and into my career and would have benefitted greatly if I had learned these lessons earlier in my life.
We should totes have that
"Service guarantees citizenship."
I'm PRETTY SURE that's the plot for "Starship Troopers" actually
Not the plot
