The literacy rate of the Cherokee nation was higher than that of white America up through the Civil War, yet the tribe was moved westward as an uncivilized people, so that their land could be open for American expansion.
Wrong. But I highly doubt literacy rate was measured pre-civil war.
Obviously wrong. I'm all for an America in which the natives survived and actually go their own countries. Jackson was a monster to push them out of their lands.
Jackson should've died on the White House lawn in all honesty outside of being the only president too leave with no debt he did a terrible job. He ignored the Supreme Court which cost the lives of a huge sum of Native American can't wait for him too be off the 20 dollar bill although it should be another founding father replacing him on the bill
Many of the tribes in the Southeast were farmers, who were very successful and "civilized," yet they were moved to Oklahoma. In Indiana, Illinois and Michigan, Native American people who were very active in trade, who were trilingual and very good entrepreneurs, were forced to the plains of Kansas. Many of the people who went into the West became Native American pioneers. They transformed the West because their cultures had been so transformed in the East that they brought many tenant.
