Show of HandsShow of Hands

I'm in NC today. I visited a chocolate shop after dinner, & I really just wanted to browse. However, when I saw a sign on the bathroom proclaiming the owners' opposition to NC's anti-trans bathroom law, I spent $20 there. Fuck transphobia!

Yay! Personal freedom to spend your dollars how you see fit and run a business how you see fit!

Good job! You just proved why the government shouldn't enforce descrimination laws.

People like you will purchase more goods at stores that you agree with, rather than a store that descrimates. Making the store that descrimates lose business.

If I had a business there, I'd have a single unisex bathroom.
And... case closed 😎

Or own a business where I don't have to offer public bathrooms! It's like flag burning. It's legal under the 1st amendment. Why not pass an amendment that requires all American flags to be made of non-combustible material? I don't think flag warming will be particularly controversial! HA!

I'll be a proud bigot in this case.

6500 years of recorded history and no one ever seemed confused about their gender until now. Go figure.

Wrong. Gender variant people have been around forever. Native American "two spirits", Indian Hijra, "sworn virgins" of the Balkans who were women living in the roles of men.

It's important never to remember, before you start thumping about recorded human history, that there's probably a lot of things you've never learned about. 🙂

Well... I certainly can't argue with stupid people.

Proudly. I'd vote for him again.

Also lulz dude, you come out talking ignorance then don't have the civilly or decency to step down when someone who knows more shows up and I'm the stupid one.

Keep on keepin' on brah.

"Gender variant people have been around forever."....why don't you call it like it is....SEXUAL PERVERSION has been around forever. Trying to be all intelligent about it doesn't work with me. Maybe yo mama...but not me.

The idea of perversion is culturally determined and has varied through human history as well. The Hijra among the Indian people have always been tolerated and the Native American two spirits were venerated. You are changing your goal posts. You said before that gender variation was recent, now you are saying it's not.

Also my mother taught me to be intellectually curious so I learn about people and things that are different than me before I judge them. It's served me well and I'm glad for it.

Thanks for recognizing I'm smart though. 😆

Of course. It's a chocolatier not a gun shop.
