When I was young, anonymity on the Internet was exciting and the thing to do. These days the kids tend to over share everything. Which do you prefer?
I don't publicize my address or phone number, but I'm pretty transparent. I don't make any attempt to hide who I am. But I also don't post anything stupid or embarrassing, or that I wouldn't say directly to almost anyone.
I tried not to ever post or say things that I'd regret or were stupid, but I just really enjoyed talking to people without any fear of judgement (I was not a popular kid). I thought it was amazing that you could just be whoever you wanted to be.
Ah, the heady days of the early '90s... I'm only being slightly facetious when I say it was the Wild West of the Internet back then.
Not share everything. Anonymity is definitely the way to go. To some degree, especially with kids. There are kids posting their phone numbers on Instagram...it's ridiculous.
It's also more fun :)
Ugh what? The character limit isn't THAT strict... :)
It has nothing to do with the character limit. -_-
I know. But your 3 letter reply seems like you're taking the character limit much too far :)
............ You know exactly what it was about, haha. :P
I don't really have a problem with the character limit. :)
Haha I don't like giving out info about myself. You never know who might use it. I sound paranoid, but idk...
I know what you mean. :)
I know a few users' names who don't want them shared with others, and I would never break that trust.
That's good. Very considerate. You do have a lot of info out there though :) I have some but hopefully nothing too identifying.
My email - so people can talk to me if they need help, or someone to talk to. My name - because I'd rather be called by my name than a screen name.
As to you: I only know your username, and that you live in DC. And I know quite a bit about your
personality, and some of your likes and dislikes. :) other than those, though... Nada.
As it should be :)
I'm sure you'll have no problems with your transparency though. Except that you love Take 5s...that should be classified information!
And oh, totally.
It's not you personally! That goes for anyone on SoH. Except for the three users I know in real life, obviously.
To each her own.
Considering I'm one of the people who's always open and transparent as to who I am - on here or anywhere. :)
