Donald Trump suggested during a speech yesterday to his supporters that those who care about second amendment rights should assassinate Hillary Clinton and/or her SCOTUS judges. The Secret Service are aware of Trump's comments. Presidential?

That's not what was said

Whether he meant shooting her, voting against her, or something else entirely, it doesn't seem very presidential if you have to go back and clarify that you didn't mean shooting her. Don't want people to get upset about your comments? Make your comments more clear, or don't try and make jokes about shooting people. At some point he has to accept that how and what he says is part of the problem.

Nowhere in that sentence shows Trump suggesting an assassination on Clinton. Try again

He didn't say that. He said that second amendment people could do something about it. If a woman is advocating for the right of women to breastfeed in public and says that breastfeeding women could do something about it, does that mean that they're going to squirt milk on the congress? It's a stupid argument. Don't fall for the spin that the left puts into everything he says. All they're doing is taking the heat of of Hillary.

The media is really trying to make something out of nothing here, IMO. He said nothing of assassination. This whole thing is based on far reaching interpretation, the most negative possible interpretation at that. So while Trump has definitely given them plenty of legitimate things to rip on him about, this just isn't one of them, IMO.

I can see why people think it was a threat but it is obvious that he wasn't calling for violence. It doesn't make sense why these politicians think people will just happily give up their guns. Anytime someone defends the second amendment, they are immediately demonized by the media.

If Clinton made a similar remark, you wouldn't defend it.

Well yeah I wouldn't defend the opposite candidate but this is obviously not an assassination threat. If Trump actually asked for her to be assassinated then he would deserve to get kicked out of the race and it would be the same for Hillary but neither of them said anything about killing anyone.

Really?

I'm no fan of Trump, but this whole thing is stupid. No, he didn't ask anyone to assassinate Hillary.

People really need to understand Trump sucks. But Hillary is no angel either. She's as much of a degenerate as he has verbal diarrhea.

I believe he was joking about shooting her myself. But it's just an opinion because he didn't actually say that. The media is touting it as a fact when it's not.

Trump never said anything about an assassination. He was hinting for people to get out and vote for him so Hillary can't take away their rights. Nice try though at trying to twist his words.

Is that why even conservative media sources said that he suggested that his supporters assassinate Clinton and/or her SCOTUS judges?

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 5:20 am

What conservative media sources are you referring to? Is that who you are trusting these days? Lots of media sources like to spin Trumps words into a controversy because they know it will make a juicy story to help them make money. Don't believe every word you hear just because the media is reporting it.

There's numerous reasons to WHY he didn't suggest they vote against her because FIRSTLY in the context of the speech that wouldn't make any sense as he said when she appoints them AFTER ELECTED and if she was already president you couldn't vote against her, so to "stop her" you'd have to do something else

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 6:17 am

The article only talks about Donald Trump rejecting claims he was advocating violence against Hillary Clinton when he suggested at a rally Tuesday there might be something “Second Amendment people” can do to stop her from picking judges. It does NOT say anything about an assassination and certainly doesn't say Fox News is accusing trump of promoting violence. Try again.

Patriot77 Wyoming

Irilogical

Or maybe you are just misinterpreting Trumps words and drawing your own conclusions into what you want to believe. The fact of the matter is that gun right advocates could still do something to stop Clinton even after she is elected President. They could vote for legislatures in Congress to block her proposals to take away guns.

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 6:29 am

Thanks polster

You are such a nice guy ;)

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 6:48 am

Yea that's not what he meant ;) when his OWN PARTY suggests that he said someone could or should KILL sec. Clinton I THINK that's a problem but. As a supporter of this man we've seen time after time that NO MATTER WHAT THE FUCK HE SAYS you'll never stop supporting and defending him, and this is just another example. I believe he was joking, he's not ACTUALLY CALLING FOR IT, but with the lunatics in the world who SEEM TO BE FOLLOWING HIM just JOKING about something like that could trigger something very VERY bad. He doesn't realize the power his words have now as the nominee and it's dangerous and should fully be investigated by the secret service as a threat

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 7:18 am

There's not misinterpretation again ;) Show me the sentence where Trump actually suggested to KILL sec. Clinton then I'll believe your argument.

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 7:24 am

He said IF SHE APPOINTS THE JUDGES that's verbatim. So if she were able to appoint the judges, that means she'd be PRESIDENT. If she weRe PRESIDENT then they can't vote for him against her like you people are CLAIMING HE MEANT. THEREFORE, he was making a joke as you can also tell by his tone of voice and the LAUGHTER that someone could kill or shoot or harm her and/or the judges. THAT IS WHAT HE SAID u can deny it all you want but I know what I heard and so does the majority of people and he was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AT THE LEAST making a really really bad joke no doubt about it. Don't try to blame the "Clinton Spin Machine" and the "Liberal Media" I think he said it cause he DID it cause they told me he did

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 7:24 am

If there wasn't misinterpretation why does half the country prolly more so think he was trying to make a joke about assassinating her huh ;) u tell me that

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 7:27 am

And I'm not trying to defend anyone. If Trump really did suggest an assassination then I would call him out on it and recommend him to drop out. But the the truth is he really didn't. The facts speak for themselves.

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 7:29 am

You still haven't posted any sentence that shows Trump suggesting an assassination

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 7:30 am

IM NOT SAYING HE SUGGESTED it I'm saying he joked about it but that's STILL REALLY BAD. If you have to explain something that you said MAYB you SHOULDNT HAVE SAID IT in the first place. He did say, I watched his speech live and have now seen it numerous other times

Irrilogical New Jersey

IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH you know that is not a call to "vote" and it's proved by FIRSTLY the context in which he said it and SECONDLY if it were a call to vote why would everyone in the room laugh. He clearly went off the cuff and tried to make a joke and has now landed himself in EVEN MORE DEEP SHIT

Patriot77 Wyoming
08/10/16 7:33 am

Even if she were Pres the gun rights advocates could still stop her. They can vote for congressman or senators to block her proposals. They did it under Obama. They can do it again under Clinton.

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 7:34 am

BUDDY THATS NOT THE POINT THATS BOT WHAT HE SAID THO you can twist it anyway you want but MANY OF US see what he said and HOW and WHEN and THE TONE in which he said and can tell that he wasn't saying anything about "voting"

08/10/16 7:35 am

No where in that sentence shows Trump suggesting an assassination

Irrilogical New Jersey
08/10/16 7:36 am

You're trying to justify that and it's indefensible nothing will ever make what he said okay and a LARGE LARGE majority of the country and his own party seem to agree with me. The only people that don't care are the TRUMP SUPPORTERS I wonder why huh ? They don't care what he says ever and LOVE when he says things like this, so they obviously won't care, but the Rest of us can see that what he said was dangerous

Irrilogical New Jersey

Where does it say that people should VOTE then the word "vote" hasn't come up at all

Irrilogical New Jersey

He only said "stop" and in the context HE WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT VOTING SO

Patriot77 Wyoming
