That's a nice feel good thing to say to try to bunch Islam with other beliefs, however for this year there were 1274 Islamic terrorist attacks that have killed 11774, and wounded 14303.

I'm not for cutting Islam slack and waiting for their ideology take another 500 years to act like the rest of the modernized and reformed religions. Until Muslims reform their religion, it should be highly criticized.

You're right. The Middle East used to be very welcoming to people of all faiths and to add that it was also a pinnacle of scientific discovery. Then the Islam that we know and love today took over, basically bringing the region back to the Stone Age.
When you have violent fundamentals, you get violent fundamentalists. Simple.
Just as much as all the other religions are. It is individuals who follow these beliefs that are sometimes violent.
