I've heard so many people argue mac or PC, but when it comes down to it, every modern laptop seems like trash to a modern desktop, assuming you have use a desk.
I have a 2 year old $1,000 (new) laptop now slower than a $400 (new) 6 year old desktop.
The thing with laptops is if you use them for their mobility they wear down and overheat quickly. And if you don't, you should buy a desktop.
And if you have good Internet, a tablet and remote desktop beat a laptop.
Laptops still are great for some things, but as someone who travels, needs a computer for work, school, and games, laptops just don't cut it.

No. The laptop becomes primary only when traveling. Even with the wireless keyboard and mouse, and connected to a full-sized monitor, my laptop is a painfully poor substitute for my desktop system.

Trying to not have a primary by using cloud services, and it's doing pretty well. Right now, my desktop is mostly server and backup, and I move semi-seamlessly between a laptop, a tiny netbook, and my iPad. I can access on my phone as well, but the screen's too small for actual work.

Right now I'm using the MacBook Pro I got in college, mostly because my iMac is having a fan issue that I can't afford to fix at the moment. I'm a little worried about overloading the laptop, actually. The iMac is my media base and I have my external drive hooked up to it.
Maybe I'll look into fixing it with my own two hands. I've fixed iPhones and kindles, and (as soon as I can find a tri-wing screwdriver) a Nintendo wii.

"No". My primary computer is an Apple MacPro Tower with a 32" Apple Cinema Display. I love that thing, man! The sad part is I usually end up just looking at it from across the room, while I do everything I need on THIS thing!🙄

No. I used a laptop exclusively from 1991 until 3 years ago, when the then-current laptop was about to die and I realized I'd been using my iPad for anything mobile, and I replaced the MacBook Pro with an iMac. A few months ago I did buy a new laptop, but I still use the iMac more than the laptop.
