Secretary of Health and Human Services Senate101
Proposes 'Solitary Confinement for Juveniles Act'
I did some research on this issue. When the law is 60 days max for an adult, I find 4 days extremely short, especially when this is only for the most heinous crimes. I am going to have to veto this piece of legislation for now.
They shouldn't be sentenced for any solitary confinement time, but four days is better than indefinitely.
I encourage all members to vote yea. The current age for all men is currently 60 days. It was 360 days but President Obama changed that. While solitary confinement for a few days can be beneficial to a young man or woman, up to 60 days for a developing mind is a very bad idea.
Nay, zero cosponsors is too few, kidding but seriously senate the number of cosponsors had nothing to do with how good the bill is
Are you talking about this bill or the other one?
There are times that solidarity confinement would be just if extended beyond 4 days.
But it would have a negative effect on the developing minds of a youth.
Well, maybe if you put an innocent person in this situation, but that's not who we are dealing with.
Nay, I'd like to see exceptions for people like the Charleston shooter.
Oh oops, he seems younger. Still, I'd like to have that exception for when it does happen.
For him, it's up to 60 days.
"Title 18, Chapter 403, United States Code, shall be amended by inserting at the end: Section 5043- No minor, who is at the time of crime under the age of 18, may be sentenced to more than four days in solitary confinement."
