Is there a meaningful difference between the collective and the individual?

The collective is the greater struggle. The struggle to let go of yourself and care for others. In Fascism it is doing what is best for the nation then yourself. Communism it is the commune. Others come before yourself in both of our world views.

Usally collectivism is better than individualism, and I feel nationalism is a good mix of the two. You need National unity, and purpose higher than your needs, as well as looking for self improvement for your own needs.

I used to think so, but now I'm not so sure.
