Whatever happened to getting out for summer about mid-May and not going back til the week after Labor Day?

I started July 28th

Here in New York, we usually don't start until like September 9

Schools in my area started today.

Wish they did though, they used to. It's too hot for any summer fun, so it gets kids back in early and out of the heat.

Last week for some. Today for the rest. Ridiculous.

Almost all the schools in Alabama start this week.

Looks like our K-8 classes start on the 18th and high school starts on the 22nd. I'm in Fort Collins, CO.

I know Memphis TN starts *today,* based on a poll from yesterday...

Ours start in September.
