We had thanksgiving dinner on a boat this year for some reason we did not pray, but everyday we do give thanks at dinner.

Watched it for the first time this year, I probably won't watch it again unless I happen to find it while flipping channels.

You could always cover your eyes and deny it like you ppl do with science.

I think it's somewhat ironic that a larger percent of republicans say thanks and have less to be thankful for recently than democrats. While democrats are still just taking and taking from this country without a sense of gratitude.

If this means prayer no, but I said yes because my dad gives a great speech every year about how much we have to be thankful for :)

If I was the cook, I'd not be very happy. No respect.

I am thankful our forefathers lacked the sense to not go ahead with the genocide. Well done, cheers!

I know it was originally to thank God, and many people still do (including me) but I was just pointing out that you can still be thankful even if you're an atheist.

Ah, the science type. As ignorant as always. I love how you think it's logical to assume the universe randomly popped into existence. And life? Oh, there's no way it came from something none-living. Science told me.

Tarantula, he didn't ask you to read it. He didn't say "believe this!" Any beliefs which can't be subject to scrutiny or made fun of aren't worth having.

Cool observation. I'll use your logic for a second. Mitt Romney is president. See, this app is clearly an accurate representation of ALL democrats and ALL republicans everywhere.

Why pray if there's no God? And giving thanks doesn't have to be reserved for a deity. I give thanks for my family, friends, teachers and science. Love, health and happiness. There's so much to give thanks for, and you can thank science for all of it.

Let no unwholesome words proceed from your mouth, only that which is good for edification. Paul. ;) I think there will be plenty of good laughter.

History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help.

Had the kids each read praise and Thanksgiving passages from Psalms before we prayed. It is so easy to forget to keep thankfulness to God at the forefront of the holiday and every day. It is so easy to take our blessings for granted.

Except for the pro-war,pro-empire and radical Christian fundamentalism it does. That's where you lame-brains go wrong.

I knew a family that set a place at the table for Jesus at each meal, complete with servings of food, which went to waste. On a side note, they were the most dysfunctional family I ever met.

I don't give thanks to anyone/thing. I just like to take a minute to think, hey, it's pretty cool I wasnt born in a third world country or raped and I get to go to college and have an iPhone. That's all. I think remembering I'm better off than most keeps life in perspective. No god needed.

I went to early Mass and took this away. " A thankful heart is open to generosity an a generous heart is thankful. As I sat there in my wounded world of death, divorce, loss and betrayal, I realized that I had some work to do.
