He seemed to try to help Obama a couple of times. And Obama did suggest "you might want to move on to the next question..." in a difficult moment.

The moderator seemed impartial but he had about as much control over this debate as the replacement refs had over the Packers vs. Seahawks football game.

Romney was so rude. I believe the moderator knows who to vote for now.

The moderator seemed impartial to the candidates, but Obama was repeatedly ignoring that his time was up. He spoke over 10% more than Romney did for the entire debate. The moderator wasn't going to yell at the president to stop simply because he's the president.

He did have that constant smirk that makes him seem that way.

Romney was a jerk to him, Obama was respectful but Mr. Lehrer was quite impartial.

10/04/12 12:56 am

I think that was mainly because Obama was already taking more time than he was supposed to.

A few times the moderator prevented Obama from responding to some important points. On the other hand Romney seemed to have more latitude.

He's the President, first of all. He wasn't being a jerk about it. When Jimmy chimed in, Obama was charismatic and respectful. Romney just talked over him and acted like a total jerk. They had the same amount of time. I timed them both most of the time.

It seemed to me like he was more short-tempered with Romney trying to interject or run over the time limit. But I think this is also because Romney was being rude about it.

Romney does not have a plan to put through a $5 trillion tax cut.

Stop spinning this.

He actually interrupted Obama to ask Romney to retort. Rude, and the only time he bothered really getting in the way at all.

Gotta call BS on that. Both candidates were allowed to speak basically as long as they wanted, the moderator didn't enforce the time limit on either person. I'll be curious to see if anyone notes the exact total time each candidate spoke. I bet it's very close and not and nothing to complain about.

Obama was routinely allowed to go beyond his time limit. I thought it was supposed to be a 2 minute limit? Obama went over 3 a couple of times. Romney was lucky if he got 2 minutes without interruption from Obama or the moderator.

He's making Romney be more specific and stopping in the middle of sentences, and Obama has gotten 5 extra minutes of talking.

I notice the moderator confronting Romney about a specific answer, but didn't do the same for Obama. It's so difficult, and probably impossible, to hide his bias.
