Creationism is inconsistent with the facts that the Earth is about four billion years old and that life’s diversity emerged over eons in steps, usually small and driven by such evolutionary mechanisms as genetic change and natural selection.

I was taught that Gods ways are not our ways. I guess that time passage could fit into that scenario.

One should take into consideration when the biblical account was written and the people's understanding at the time. The biblical account is not (in my opinion) trying to be scientifically accurate, it is merely telling a story.

Creationism as referenced to in the Christian bible. Yes, inconsistent. ID, which has no basis in scripture, is probably consistent with those facts.
