Do you think the United States is looked upon (more or less) favorably by other countries since Barack Obama has been president?

Our international standing has greatly improved under this administration. The last one did a poor job. If Hillary gets in this will improve even more and if trump gets in the only friend we will have is Russia.

To outsiders more favorable, to his own population yes. Foreign leaders love a limp wrested president

More favorably of course. Why shouldn't they, considering he's trying to open our borders, provide healthcare to all, and makes us look ridiculously weak to foreign govts. We're failing as a country and that looks good to outsiders.

President Obama is viewed very favorably, but there is rising concern about the average American as a direct result of the parade of clowns that is the Republican primary. The USA as a nation is viewed favorably, if onlywith a shake of the head and a chuckle at times.

People are in disagreement with reality. It's definitely viewed more favorably.

I was just speaking about this with people from Hong Kong. They viewed the US more favorably with Obama as president. Their opinion was faltering due to Trump's run for president though.

Bush 43 was a total embarrassment. President Obama repaired that damage.

Except now, if you listen to foreign "people on the street," interviews, they all wonder what the hell is up with Americans voting for Trump and Cruz.

It's a small minority of Americans who find Trump or Cruz acceptable.

Yes, but it is making a lot of noise.

Definitely less. He is an abominable excuse for a president.

I disagree. There have been way worse!

Only Carter, but it's nearly a tie for last place.

I'm glad you get to have an opinion and that others can have there's! Great country!

I think Obama has a mostly favorable rep, but I also think people see it as being taken over by religious crazies.

Do YOU think the US has been taken over by a bunch of religious crazies?

That wasn't the question. But I think there are religious crazies that are being obstructionist. This isn't to say that every religious person is a crazy.

I'm not European, but Russia takes us as a joke

04/24/16 12:18 pm

As somebody from the UK I promise people in Europe have a much higher favourability than most American of Obama

What would account for this favorability (sorry, you stated you were a Brit) favourability?

04/24/16 1:41 pm

This sums it up pretty well. It's more people like the IDEA of Obama (black, internationalist, etc) rather than knowing about his actual policy's. Also the fact that he hasn't led the west into another war helps.
