Authoritarian, economically illiterate, murderous, spoiled person. He was one of the worst presidents we have ever had and failed miserably. He does not deserve the recognition he receives. Take him off the dime.
But that’s just me.

There's not really a reason to.

Yes. He should be replaced by an image of Larry Culpepper.

When I was a very little girl, I had nightmares about a gigantic illuminated dime in which FDR's creepily enormous silver head kept watching me.

So yes. Please. End my nightmare.

Lol I'm sure Mitch McConnell would take up that story in a crusade against FDR

Oh, ew, no. I grew up in Kentucky and I still have his early campaign jingles in my memory bank, back when he was running for Jefferson County Judge-Executive. I'm a staunch conservative, but that shell-less turtle of a man creeps me out.

I'd like to see Howdy Doody on the dime.

We should revel in the fact that the Democrats have removed the founder of their populist order in a fit of white guilt in favor of a gun toting government defying serial lawbreaker.

Then we should let the Demcrats keep at least one icon on money (even if he did order American citizens into internment camps).

Just wondering how's FDRs treatment of the Japanese is held vs Jacksons treatment of the American Indians. Hypothetically both should b off the currency for the same reason

He apparently hated the Japanese, Italians and Germans.

With World War II going on, I'd say that comes in pretty handy, don't you?

Wasn't too fond of German Jewish refugees, either.

Well, at least he let Einstein into the country, right?

Einstein and the Frankfurt scholars came early and had made a name for themselves. When poorer Jewish refugees tried to come in on boats, he sent most of them back to die in Nazi concentration camps.

But we don't talk about that.

Why don't we put RuPaul on this one instead?

I was thinking JFK and bring Coolidge to the 50c if it is brought back.

Why would we replace the guy who got us out of the Great Depression with the guy who caused it?

dfish at home
04/23/16 4:24 pm

Coolidge?!?! He did not cause the Great Depression. FDR's policies kept the Great Depression going much long than it would have and WWII is the only reason we got out of it under his presidency

kywrite augusta, ga

Yep. Only a war that caused millions of deaths got us out of the Depression.

Neither WWII nor FDR brought us out of the Great Depression. The Market did so in spite of both.

It was the ending of the war that ended the depression. But that’s neither here nor there. The fact of the matter is FDR did nothing to end it; he only prolonged it.
