Do you agree with the decision to replace Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman on the twenty dollar bill? (Inspired by ScottyDoesNo)

Oh just put the Queen on all your money and end the bickering. She's really very nice.

Certainly we honor two groups with one twenty buck stroke and win PC honor medal .

That's the most horrible ideal I've ever heard. Why would you want to honor a nobody by replacing one of the most incredible American we ever had with a person who is not deserving?

Harriet Tubman was a convict. Andrew Jackson was a patriot that saved America from the Brits taking us over

Harriet Tubman helped free slaves. Some laws deserve to be broken.

I don't care who's on the money as long as I can use it to purchase goods and services.

Is this just a way to simultaneously pander to women and blacks? I suggest equal pay would be appreciated a whole lot more.

I'd prefer Susan B Anthony.

In my humble opinion, only US Presidents or Founding Fathers should be allowed on United States currency (front).

So no lady liberty, Susan B. Anthony, or Sacagawea?

Not if I had my way. You open it up to too much controversy if you leave the criteria so broad. With Founding Fathers and Presidents, it keeps it simple.

Maybe the "B" side for bills and tails for coins? Would that work?

Tubman is far more of an American hero than Jackson.

No. It's completely unnecessary. What's so wrong with Andy Jackson?

Ummm... He was responsible for the Trail of Tears, causing thousands of innocent Native Americans to die because they lived in America? Or, maybe, he almost started an international conflict with France? He also committed adultery and incarcerated hundreds of people, without trial or reason. That's what's wrong with Andy Jackson.

Of course. It's always about the damn savage Indians. I should've known.

FDR put millions of Americans in concentration camps and he's you peoples' fucking hero. This fake outrage amuses me. So now that the black President is putting a black criminal on money, you people can't call America racist anymore. Deal?

Millions? Really? Like who? Are you taking about executive order 9066? Other? Just because you don't like FDR doesn't mean that you have to try and defend Jackson with his actions.

04/20/16 3:19 pm

I don't give a fuck what Jackson did. The hypocrisy is from you people applauding this move while loving a man that put Americans in concentration camps.

WTF does FDR have to go with this discussion? NOTHING!!!
Harriet Tubman a criminal? Seriously? She was a criminal because she was trying to cause white slave owners to lose their property? Cowboy, are you really that brain damaged? "Savage Indians"? Go back and hide under your rock. Go troll somewhere else.

Cowboy, FDR was a piece off shit, but I think it's a little over 100,000 rather than millions that were put to internment camps

LeftLibertarian The Age of Outrage
04/20/16 3:45 pm

Oh and as for Harriet Tubman being a criminal as she technically broke the law I recommend this video youtu.be/4YSfURSeyaE

Of course he was a piece of shit socialist progressive that put Americans not concentration camps and Harriet Tubman was a criminal. Thank you.

You definitely didn't watch the video, it was in defense of the likes of Tubman, and when did FDR support worker control over production?

cowboy Here and There

I don't need to watch it. I already know that she was a criminal.

borny33
04/20/16 4:06 pm

So it's not millions? What was done in these camps? Have you read about them? Labor? Death camps? What happens?
You shouldn't have missed that day at school!
I find it awful that it occurred, but it wasn't nearly as bad as Jackson...so I'm no hypocrite, liberal (though I do t hate them like someone I know), and I actually use history properly!

What was her crime? Worse than smoking pot like you've admitted to?

I am laughing at Cowboy saying he doesn't need to watch it because he knows she's a criminal. That just like I don't have to read anymore of his shit, because I know he's a maroon (as Bugs Bunny would say). It also brings to mind Asimov's comment on Cowboy's false notion that democracy means that his ignorance is just as good as our knowledge.
