This week I have been taking part in a production of The Fiddler on the Roof. Have you ever seen the movie or seen a production of The Fiddler on the Roof?

I know this poll closed already, but I've been gone for a bit, so don't mind me. Just want to say that I LOVE Fiddler. It's one of my favorite musicals. Such a good score. So many good numbers, and the story is fantastic as well. Do you have a part, or are you in the chorus?

Yes! It's one of my favorite musicals. The last time I saw our was at the Pantages when Chaim Topol portrayed Tevye, it was amazing to see him!

I've never seen it, but my mother has seen the Broadway show as well as the movie and randomly breaks out into song with, "Tradition" (she's very theatrical) and sings it in this operatic voice...it's funny. I really should make it a point to see the movie. Good luck with your performance!

I used to go out for every musical in high school and have grown to dislike most of them, but I will still watch this one front to back. A classic!

I have seen it at least 10 times. What part are you playing?

It's actually a high school production that needed extra voices for the villager songs. I am part of an "invisible choir". I am off stage with a mic.

I graduated high school 25 years ago.

I wish I could have seen the stage production with Zero Mostel.

I remember my parents taking me along to see a theatre production of it as a kid.

Have conducted two runs of the show. I still cringe when someone says "Tradition" or "To life."

I played pit drums for the show at an Equity summer stock theatre in central Illinois, with comic legend Stubby Kaye as Tevye. My son was in a local production here while in junior college - he was one of four Bottle Dancers, but when they added an extra Sunday matinée at the last minute, he had to do the bottle dance himself. He hammed it up and brought down the house! What's your role?

I played Tevye in college and have seen others perform it a couple times too. One of my favorites!

I might. There are a lot of shows I've been invited to, so I'll try to check a few of them out.

You tempter!

I'm feeling too yucky to go anywhere (just a cold, but I don't want to pass it around) - and the Denver airport has already cancelled 678 flights for the weekend in advance of a *huge* expected snowstorm (one model predicted 40" of snow), so I think I'm hibernating tomorrow. Probably couldn't even get to Denver, anyway.

Want to do the musical again in June? There's a birthday party I'm trying to talk myself into going to on the 25th in Chapel Hill, and I have a good friend I want to visit in Durham, too.

Where are you doing it & what is your role?

My kid's high school is doing it. It is a small school and they needed some extra voices for the songs when the villagers sing. So, I am a part of an "invisible choir".

Long story short, I get the best seat in the house and they give me a microphone.

But with your beard, you should be on stage! I'm protesting on your behalf by not flying there to see it! πŸ˜ƒ

Ron: those were great times. I did video for the HS musicals. There is a lot of work & literally sweat & tears.
It was great. In fact I was president of the choir one year & chaperoned many trips.
You are making lifetime memories for your family. Good stuff!

Tom, our Tevia is incredible (and he has a wonderful beard). He Transformed into a middle aged Jewish man. If I had the opportunity, I don't know that I could do better or that I'd want to. I would be a great Motel, but alas, I graduated high school in 1990.

I was on running crew for it when I was in 5th grade. It was the "junior version," since it was a middle school musical, but I loved it. Wish I had auditioned for it, though.
