According to Forbes, Angela Merkel is the most powerful woman worldwide, closely followed by Hillary Clinton. Aside from personal likes and dislikes, do you agree?
Not even close. Taylor swift makes both ladies look like school girls.
I would argue that Kim Kardashian is the most powerful woman in the world. She has a ton of fangirl followers on social media. I remember when she posted a selfie with Hillary Clinton and my friends at TMZ were discussing how much that will impact the election.
5 years ago I would've said Oprah.
I think you can say what you will about second place, whether celebrity or otherwise, but this is more or less localized. I don't think an argument could be made about Kim K being more powerful than Angela Merkel.
No. Clinton is merely a candidate who holds some influence, limited to the conversation within one party of one country, albeit the most influential country in the world. No comparison to Merkel, unless she wins the White House of course.
Same goes with Trump btw, for all those lunatics who thought he is more influential than Merkel.
Merkel has been powerful in Germany, the European Union, and worldwide. However, considering how she has put her country's safety and economy at risk over immigration, she may have lost some power. She hasn't put her country first, and has lost the support of many Germans.
Merkel is one of the most powerful people, and has been for some time.
She's powerful yes, but in no way is a good leader or a positive role model for women. Marie Le Pen should take her place.
She lost my respect by covering up the crimes of immigrants and not protecting her own people.
Putting a fox in charge of the hen house.
It has to be categorical, they are most powerful politically. But there are other women that influence others on a larger scale like Beyonce. You have to look at culture, business, politics, etc, all separately.
Predictably partisan results. If they aren't the top 2....then who do you have in the top 2?
Merkel and Janet Yellen. Hillary is 3 for me. Although, it's subject to debate.
No, Kim Kardashian is.
I'm not sure how "powerful" follows, since Hillary doesn't currently hold office. Hopefully in a year, though, she'll move to the #1 spot :D
Merkel as current #1 probably does make sense, though.
Glorifying Hillary to be the most powerful woman in the world is treason on our nation, and Earth.
Aw man. I can almost HEAR the sanctimonious melodramatic music playing in the background of your comment. It's gonna be fun to watch you freak out when she's our president ☺️
Hillary isn't number 2
Yes she is. No 1 is pee.
I'd generally agree with that.
If there was a woman president of the US then that woman would be more powerful than Merkel.
She is easily the most powerful European leader (apart from Putin) as Germany is the most powerful and influential European Country (apart from Russia)
Not many votes but so far, the party filter looks counterintuitive.
What does your byline STL mean BTW?
I don't know who she (not Hillary) is
Person of the year in the time magazine and Chancellor (that's like president or prime minister) of Germany. I'm not always up to date on political issues but this should be common knowledge.
She's the one who allowed Germany to fall into its current state
Angela Merkel is the "Verräter" of Germany who's responsible for the refugee situation going on in Germany and Europe.
I forgot how much the right dislikes Merkel. She's brilliant.
This is an area in which we'll likely never agree, honestly. We can go through the motions and have some back and forth, but we'll just end up right back where we started.
I see no valid reasons
I'm sure you don't.
It's hard to if you can see what's happening to Germany
Well.. if you care.
Inspired by sydwel of course.
I think so, most powerful woman since iron lady Thatcher. Has ruled one of the top ten economies for a long time and under her rule, Germany attained a balanced budget.
