It is get fit Monday. I've done two small walks today. Doggie in tow. Still doing some very foolish eating. But I notice it's after I take my sleeping pill maybe I relax my vigilance too much. How are you doing?
Eating more dark green veggies more.
I am doing terrible
Mixed, this week. I didn't get in a lot of steps while I was housesitting - I haven't even topped 10,000/day for over a week - but at least I got in some flights of stairs, between the 3-story house, the steep driveway up from my daughter's house across the road.
I ate reasonably all week, for the most part. I did drink 2 beers. (How could I resist Graham Cracker porter, and Death by Coconut porter?) And then I had a piece of chocolate placed in my hand. It was tiny (and filled with an Irish stout), but still... I could easily have resisted if it were even an inch away from me, but having it put *in* my hand made it, well, irresistible. What a sugar rush.
I've been trying to walk more, since I got home. And Fitbit has a new feature where it displays how many hours you've taken at least 250 steps, out of a range of hours that you choose, up to 14/day. That's not a lot of steps in itself of course, but at least it gets me up off my butt at least once an hour, which is good, since parking on your butt all day is supposed to be really bad for general health. I use a Pomodoro app to remind me to get up anyway, but this is even better.
My husband did that with ice cream last week. Now I'm doing Atkins, sort of, did have a small serving of strawberries.
Strawberries are fine, after the induction phase. I don't know if you went all the back to that or not, but berries are among the best fruits for Atkins.
Only have about 10 pounds to lose they said you don't have to go to induction. I'm kind of easing into it so I don't have that nasty headache
5 days of workout, one day of rest. Back at it today.
I'm using my fitbit, I reached 10,000 steps by 3pm the other day! We are very busy prepping the house to show to an intrested buyer, lots of physical work. It feels good.
It's been a bad week, though I did stick with calories at least. More health stuff of course has been happening too, which is why I haven't been doing my workouts. Plus it's been freezing or raining so walks (which I can do) weren't an option all week. Supposed to be nicer this week though!
Maybe it's God's way of saying you need to get some rest. I'm laying down in my grand cat jumped on me immediately I'm in a major cleaning project.
I am resting as much as I can actually. Helps that I'm down to 2 classes and only have a few weeks left before graduation. Ben let's me sleep in and has taken on most cleaning too. But I'm dying to get in my garden! I don't like resting too much haha.
Nothing much to report. I'm getting my exercise chasing cats around trying to get pills in them.
I really love it when you post this questions.
You feel like someone who cares about us and is really nice. Also great profile picture. Followed ☺
Tops is a pretty amazing woman, her heart is big and she does care about us!!
Thank you so much you made my day. Yes I do care.
I could have gotten up and taken a run this morning but... I didn't. I will be doing that tomorrow however. I've been doing high intensity workouts pretty regularly and they're getting noticeably easier - I'm going to have to make them harder soon.
I actually ran a few blocks today with my dog. Intermittent probably a half a block at a time a little more toward the end of the day.
Intermittent is a good way to do it! It's why I like doing high-intensity intervals - good cardio workout in a relatively short time. My body just isn't designed for running at one speed for a sustained amount of time. When I was getting all my workouts from dance, I would have said I wasn't built for running at all; however now that I've found a style that works for me I don't hate it so much anymore.
Ran 40 miles again last week.
This week is more of a strength training week, so I'll probably clock 15-20mi running.
Poor eating, bad sleep, but go for walks and run with our boxer puppy
My baby is a border collie but he's getting up there in years
I like border collies, they work great on the farm.
Our pup is about 10 months old
6:00 am high intensity workout with calisthenics & isometrics. Plus 7,000 steps (walking) so far for the day.
Spring break last week so didn't eat well. But, back to normal today and I just got off the treadmill.
Sure you did. Aha.
Everything you read on the Internet is true, Okie. EVERYTHING!
I'm not an Internet denier. 🤓
I just got home from taking my dog for a walk. You can smell the ocean today very nice. The air is crisp and clean.
That sounds wonderful.
First work day back after a vacation. I'm heading to the gym right now. I feel fat. :-)
You ate mighty healthy, though.
😮 you just tacitly agreed that I'm fat. Lol.
I did eat good. I also ate a whole bag of chocolate/peanut turtles by myself on the way to the airport. :-(
"iPhone bisque..." Lol. Still laughing at that.
Here's the bisque skit I started telling you about. youtu.be/SVjXwV967k4
"I tore my meniscus."
Lol! I never said that you're fat! You're not fat. I still dig the bisque. Junior says that he hopes none of you had any influenza bisque on the plane.
He came up with the funniest soups I've ever heard.
He's clever with the bisque. He asked if I have hydraulic press bisque in the Dutch oven tonight. He's a little disappointed that it's chicken & dumplings.
Two walks already today with my dog. We total 1.5 miles a day on average unless it is blazingly hot. If I did not have a little dog who begs to walk I would really slack off. Walking keeps my weight in check.
Stay away from simple sugars. The more complex the better. As in broccoli. And lean meats. Meat and vegetables without a starch will work like magic.
I do all day long and then after I take my sleeping pill I crave sugar either that or I can relax myself well too much. I'm determined yet again.
Sounds like you have a sugar addiction. It's hard to break. But you can do it. I'm worried that you can't sleep without drugs. That's not healthy in the long run.
I'm eating ice cream as I type...so, not so good.
Ha ha you been doing great! Didn't I just read you won an reward!
Up and dressed, fed the Mutt and me ! ; )
Today I'm walking between the bed and the toilet with horrible diarrhea. Just one week ago I had surgery, and hardly ate for a few days. Guess I'm losing some weight.
I hope you feel better quickly contact your doctor if the diarrhea continues
Thank you 🙂
I've been eating fairly well. Mondays are when I get most of my studying done, so I spend a lot of time on the couch with my books or doing research on the Internet.
I've been busy at school. That translates into being more active. That also means more sore and more tired in the evening when I get home.
My father bought a giant bag of chocolate chunks. So that's that.
My husband kept on inviting me for ice cream
I spent a lot of time on the road this week, but I snuck in a swim here and there.
Bet you had a very good time
We really did!
