The question wasn't whether it is possible, the question is whether sanders can do it, "loser."

Thats dumb that people believe he cant break up big banks when he's given a lengthy and detailed, piece by piece info on how it is you break up big banks. You introduce legislation and under the authority of dodd frank they tell you what banks are too big ect.

It's been done before in the US

The EU managed to impose size limits on European banks, i don't see why Bernie would struggle to do something similar, ok maybe he wont totally break them up, but he could limit them

Considering the executive branch does not have any financial regulatory authority.

I'll tell you my man. First lets get this out of the way: Bernie will sell what he thinks is right to you, not change his views to what is popular at any given time like a certain someone( *cough* Hillary). Now that's out of the way, Obama really tried compromising with the Republicans but now he understands that's not gonna work. Because the republicans don't LIKE government so they are going to make sure it DOESNT work. So if you think ANYONE is going to get something passed in the CURRENT situation, friend you have been lied to. So how is Bernie gonna do it? Well let me tell you! Currently there's an amendment that is out to overturn citizens United, 4 states have already passed it, and on Bernies first 100 days of president he will be taking a tour around the nation to get 30 MORE states to pass this bill. Not ONLY that but once the amendment does get passed Bernie will be able to work with then people in Congress since they will be elected by the people not the corporations.

A president doesn't have that direct power.

I agree. Most of the stuff he wants to do will never happen the way he wants it. If he were elected, he'd push things in the direction i'd like, but I doubt would be able to go very far with anything.

He probably can't when Hillary is in office

It is extremely unlikely but still a possibility. We were able to break up AT&T and the Bell System in the 80's.

True. It's just a thoughtless gimmick to appeal to the fringes and the ignorami.

It doesn't really matter who gets elected as long as we have a do nothing congress, nothing will happen, except of course the continuous complaining and whining from the politicians and people.

04/11/16 6:06 am

I don't think there's any constitutional way that he can.
