At least initially. They can beat up an old wheelchair-bound disabled guy if it makes them feel special. But when mobs start killing us, I will fight back. However, if ISIS came over and started killing Christians who wouldn't renounce Jesus, I would die with His name on my lips.

I believe Christ was using hyperbole in this sermon. It is a sermon on generosity and forgiveness. He is saying forgive whose who harm you and be generous to those who ask much of you.

It is believing that Christians should not go to war but should instead turn the other cheek

War I do believe you need to fight in. "Time for war and time for peace"

Pedwin, I don't think this pertains to war. I know we differ in this belief. I believe it is on a much more personal scale.

David was closer to God than almost any other man that walked on earth and he had a massive body count

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. - Matthew 5:38-42
