You'd have to go back a few thousand years before you got to their common ancestral language... At least six thousand years.

Look up Proto-Indo-European. It's the ancestral language to languages all over the world.

Latin is not "Spanish and English". Spanish is an evolution of Latin. English is what happens when an isolated island of natives gets invaded by Romans, Normans, and Danes.
