Trump says that Cruz is owned by his donors. Okay. In April, Cruz's campaign reported they had raised over $66m. At the same time, all of his PACs reported they raised $56m. Doesn't that mean Cruz is owned by the grassroots limited to $2500 per year?

Democrats are voting for Bernie, who raised half as much as Hillary. No one voted for Bush who raised more than any other Republican. The influence of money on politics is wildly exaggerated.

Neither Trump nor Cruz are owned by anyone but themselves. Can anyone tell me when in the past Cruz has changed his position on an issue solely because someone gave him a lot of money?

Bankrolling the next theocracy. He's got to win it in order to save the pagans. Winning takes mega bucks.

Oh brother. Another stupid atheist who can't tell the difference between a theocracy and any government where atheism is not enforced...

WRONG on BOTH counts.

But I should be used to your misfires by now.

Oh really? So why should anyone believe Ted Cruz is a theocrat?

And when "Special Interest Jeb" dropped out, guess which campaign was the very first to call his donors begging for money?

No one owns the candidates in my opinion. When you are president you are free to do what you want. I have yet to have someone show me where a candidate went totally against a position they were leaning towards because of a contribution and not new information.

Then you could go on to his relationship with Comcast and his objections to Net Neutrality.

I object to net neutrality.... And regardless of who donates directly to his campaign, campaign finance law dictates a cap of $2500 per year.... Sooo.... Your argument is invalid.

"... donates directly to his campaign ..."

Gosh, if only there was some indirect way to support his campaign., like some kind of political group or something.

Plus, you conveniently ignored the article on his ties to banking and Wall Street.

@DerekW - are you saying that current limits and regulations are successful in preventing corporate monies from corrupting politics?

And I said his PACs have raised and spent far less money than his campaign had. If we're following the money, it's from direct donations from people and not special interests.

No, but the laws are there, so I'm going to use them to my advantage at destroying Trumpkin logic.

For the record, Cruz's campaign has spent over $58m and his PACs have spent just over $30m..... Methinks Trumpkin logic is flawed....
