Question is more complicated than it seems. Should the government be able to prohibit two consenting adults from entering the social contract of marriage? No.

Should it then be able to enforce acceptance of that contract on others who disagree? Also no.

Simply put, the government should not be involved in marriage in the first place. It should have no legal status.

Nope. It was an abomination to God 4000 years ago when He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. It remains an abomination to Him today. We are a foolish society who embraces sin and labels it tolerance.

God didn't destroy sodom and Gammorah because of homosexuality, he destroyed them because they committed a vast number of sins so great, you couldn't name them all. They were a "sin city" just like Niniva, except Niniva repented, so God didn't destroy them. If the only sin Sodom and Gammorah committed was Homosexual relations, it wouldn't have been enough for God to destroy them.

Yes, but it should be called civil unions, not marriage.

Sure let them get married, divorced, married, divorced and married again like we do. Someone has to keep the lawyers busy.

It already is. It's just some people can't accept it. How is love between two adults hurting them?

It is separating them from any fellowship with God.

That's not any business of the government, though. Citizens don't have to follow the tenets of any religion, and government doesn't - and shouldn't - have the power to compel them to do so.

Correct. We can become as corrupt as Sodom and Gomorrah and will reap the same consequences. No individual nor nation goes unpunished.

Still not the business of government to prevent the wrath of one religion's God, except under a theocracy, which is not what we have.

Not to mention that the Sodom & Gomorrah story seems to be about bad hospitality, not really homosexuality. Although I'm sure you don't agree about that.

Marriage as whole should not be defined, regulated, or otherwise cared about by the Federal, State, or local governments. Period.

It's been licensed and recorded for eons.

Okay. Slavery has been a thing for longer and is still practiced across the world today. Does that make it right?

No. I'm just saying that the government is already involved or we wouldn't have licenses, certificates, and laws.

Tbh I don't really care. I'm not gay so I don't find it really important. But I think religious organizations should be able to refuse it.

Of course any consenting adults should be able to get married, regardless of sexuality.
