The first trailer from a new Star Wars spinoff movie has been released (see link). Do you plan to see it?
I haven't seen the last one since some asshat revealed the ending. I'll get it, but I'll sit there and wait for him to die. Thanks for ruining the movie asshole.
No one dies at the end.
It's not a sequel to the force awakens tho, it's a spin off you don't need to watch ep vii to understand what's happening
No, I think that annoying alarm sound in the trailer clinched it for me. I hate sounds like that and would probably seize at some point.
Banned everything Star Wars until I can get an official HD copy of the original trilogy in its original theatrical cut.
I am going to see it. Awesome. Okay...
Mark Hamel at the end of the trailer? Did anyone else see that or was it a personal type ad? I don't know why I found his brooding silence so funny.
I'm more excited about it than I am Episode VIII!
I will see it, but I'll wait until it comes out on BluRay. I don't know how I feel about these spin-offs.
I voted no, but I probably will eventually when it makes it to one of the premium channels on cable. There's no hurry.
At this point, they need to just stop. Disney is the epitome of a fascist corporation looking to do anything to get every last nickel. Star Wars is a money-making tool used to line the pockets of J.J. Abrams and rich Hollyweird actors. The ingenious brainchild of George Lucas has been sold out to a corporate megamonster. (This coming from a Republican.)
You should find a party that represents your economic ignorance and envy/hatred of wealth better.
I still haven't seen any of the Star Wars movies.
You're missing out 😕
That's what everyone tells me. :)
Well, go watch 'em and fill the gaping hole in your cultural education!
It looks amazing, like something out of the old EU.
Why not. Looks good.
It's not a spin off when it is cannon
It looks awesome! I love Star Wars, it's the best movie franchise ever!
There should be a movie between 3 and 4 that shows Obi-Wan's adventures
Ya, everyone is hoping for an Obi wan spinoff.
When he was being trained by Qui-Gon?
People want when he was younger and also what he did between ep 3 and 4. Personally I'd like to see what happened between 3-4
Same @deathsheep, I feel that it could also help explain things in the new trilogy (Rey perhaps being Obi-Wan's granddaughter, which would make for an interesting story. It would be the grandson of Anakin vs the granddaughter of Obi-Wan.).
That's what I mean between 3 and 4, Qui Gon's spirit sort of came back from the underworld and he trained Obi Wan on Tatooine
I have watched the trailer twice today! Yes, I plan to see it!
Only twice?! Heh
I didn't see the new Star Wars movie. I'll stick to my original six.
It was pretty good if you ask me
If you like the other six, why not watch the new one?
There were only 3 official Star Wars movies as far as I'm concerned.
I think there was some fan-made stuff with a kid and a cartoon rabbit named Jar Jar in the 90s or something? Then there was a Disney parody last year. It was pretty funny, but I don't consider it cannon
Ya, Harrison ford did want to be killed off, but it's not the "obvious" reason. Hans death was a pivotal point in the story line and what allows kylo ren to descend farther into the dark side, like when anakin killed count dooku in episode 2.
Oops, meant for our over chat, I'll copy and paste there.
For some reason I didn't have any interest in it. I like Star Wars but this one didn't seem like Star Wars to me. I watched the commercials for it and it came across more like Star Trek. When I found out who the director was it made more sense lol. I only watched the 1,2,3 because I was young and dumb. The Star Wars movie series should have ended at number 6 in my opinion.
Disney is going to squeeze any profits they can get from Star Wars, so expect a lot more in the future, whether you like them or not. 😐
I figured that and unless true Star Wars fans standup and say no. Until then Disney will suck every once of money outta them.
SW has been downgraded to wait for dvd after that last turd
What was wrong with it?
Another one already? Probably gonna be shit
There is an episodic movie every two years until episode 9 and a son off in between each of those.
Ya it's ep 7, rogue one, ep 8, Han Solo spin off, ep 9 so far.
Star Wars owns me, I'm afraid. As long as they don't go all SJW on me, I'll see the movies.
Looks like they are headed down that road with another Mary Sue
"Ok then Mary Sue, err I mean Rey teaches Han to fix the millennium falcon, after she beats up 3 guys bigger than her"
"Wait, would people think that's unrealistic and retarded?"
"It'll be sexist if we don't"
"Good point. Let's roll with it"
Mary Sue isn't SJW; I can forgive it because they do the same thing with the pointy-eared green midget senior citizen. If the mystery of Rey's prodigious untrained power goes unanswered, I may change my mind.
Star Wars episode III was better than VII.
They were both great in my opinion.
Fact. But 3 was better than 6 anyway
Idk... The new one was good, however I preferred 3 mainly because everything seems more organized as far as the battles go, and the lightsaber fights had much more action in them.
Epic showdown between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader
After Disney messed up star wars 7 and essentially copied number 1s journey and the death star from 6 I'm not looking forward to anymore.
Star Wars Episode 3.5
Why not see it?
Looks pretty good
Sigh, star wars is gonna turn into every other super hero movie and lose everything that makes them special.
That was called the prequels. They have a chance to gain it back with these spin offs. Especially Rogue One because the Rebellion era is the sweet spot of Star Wars.
Eventually probably, but won't be going out of my way to see it. It'll eventually be included in some DISH weekend-free-movie-channels line up & I'll have nothing better to do/watch, but Disney is going to ruin the franchise in the first 2 years.
Count on Disney (these days) to pound something into the ground until no one ever wants to see any of it again. Really ppl, couldn't even wait one full year to let everyone digest the last over-hyped campaign where you literally couldn't watch *anything* without seeing some Star Wars tie-in, for months!?!
You can crank as many out as you can and so long as it has ballin graphics, cool lookin space shit/ planets/ aliens, and hopefully light saber battles I'm totally down.
I mean did you see all those ATATs walking around shooting up rebel scum?
It looks better than the shitfest that was force awakens
You can't say anything because that movie made 2 billion
The prequels made a ton of money too. As did transformers. I don't care that the dumb masses ate their pig slop. It was an uninspired shitfest
Just because it made a lot of money does not mean it's a good movie
Did you like Titanic
How was the force awakens a shitfest?
Rehashed plot, unrealistic characters (some teen girl knows the millennium falcon better than Han Solo and Chewbacca? Lol k.). Whiny emo goth villains. Pointless deaths. Etc
So, you looked at the surface and decided that it was shit basically. About the plot. You could honestly say ever episode is rehashed from a previous. Along with most sequel
/prequel set ups. That's how the connect as a series. The characters? Nothing unrealistic really. Rey obviously understands starships, she takes them apart for a living and built the speeder she uses from scratch with her own hands. She doesn't know the millennium falcon any better, she just simply understands the ships ad k owns what was done to it after it was stolen from Han.
Every single main villain has been Whiney in their teenage and younger years, just look at Anakin/early Vader. Kyle ten is young and doesn't have control of his powers. The dark side swells with anger and hate and when not controlled, looks exactly like Kyle ten and Anakin/early Vader (hell, even late Vader)
And what deaths were so pointless it's worth pointing out?
Yay for typing quickly and not being able to proof-read.
Obviously it's Kylo Ren* and then a few other typos in there, my bad.
As for the pointless death, Han. It was so obvious he just died because he had wanted to be killed off since Jedi. Which is fine, but they could have had him sacrificing himself or killed in an action sequence or something that I cares about. But he just died like a bitch
I don't have a problem with the spirit of what they did, just how they did it. The nature of the death went against han's character.
I saw the first Star Wars movie in 1977. It was good. No need to see any more.
I had sex once. It was good. No need to fuck again
CoffeeNow your comment is probably the best one I've ever seen on SoH
Greatest post ever
I'm definitely going, I'm going to watch all of the new ones spin offs or main films. I'm pretty much a nerd
What the hell though, another Death Star? "There's a new weapons(image of Death Star in the background) we need you to find out what it is and how to destroy it". Oh boy.
That's the original Death Star...
Yes, i think this movie is set in the same time period as "A New Hope"
Thank god. But still, it's kind of annoying to know the plot arc before the movie has even been released. That's not a dig on the trailer, but a dig on the producers for making this right after the last one.
Rogue one is about the rouge squadron team that aqueous the plans to the very first death star that are used in A New Hope to destroy the first Death Star. Rouge One is set in between episode 3 and 4
Rogue. Rouge is cheek paint. That would be a whole different kind of movie.
It's not like the Death Star plans have been bouncing around since epII. I'm trying to figure out how a movie called rouge one doesn't star rouge squadron and wedge antilies
Because this is bout the rogues that got the plans that Princess Leia eventually hides within R2D2, so that other squadrons like Rogue Squadron can do what they do. At the time of this movie, Luke is still a humble farmer.
At the time, Wedge was Red 2. Wasn't Biggs Darklighter Red 1? Anyways, after ANH, Red squadron was reformed into rogue Squadron, but during Episode IV, they were not the same squadron.
Yeah! I love everything Star Wars, and nothing in the trailer made me feel otherwise. I've always wanted a movie more about the war and fighting like some of the EU books.
Spoiler Alert! She finds the plans and takes them back to the rebels, who use them to find a weakness.
To be continued...Oh wait
She can't take them back to the rebels without breaking canon. Leia and R2 wind up with them. I'm betting she dies after transmitting them to Leia or something like that.
She'll give them to jar jar
Idk. I'm worried spin offs will make us lose some of the novelty and excitement of the main series
Count on it if they can't even wait 6 mths before round-the-clock Star Wars hype of the next thing. I love Star Wars but I was SO over all the hype during Christmas commercials I actually started to resent it! You're overdoing a good thing when ppl who love the franchise start to feel sick of the entire thing!
Didn't the prequels do that as much as could be done?
You know, Doopy, I thought so too. But as it turns out, I *seriously* underestimated Disney's "flooding the marketplace with every inconceivable tie-in no matter how absurd" propensity. 😑
Of course! It's Star Wars.
