I was on Twitter; my daughter was on Facebook. We each dragged the other to the one we'd been using, so now we both use both.
Oh, Instagram, too.
But her primary social media place (public, anyway; she has a secret private one too) is Facebook, and she posts so many of her rather wonderful photographs there that I wouldn't want to miss them. And then I got hooked on the contact with extended family members, real-life friends, and now some online friends too.
I use Twitter *mostly* for contact with experts in a number of fields who are generous with their time & information - including my own and related fields, but also general interest), plus some companies and organizations. And news outlets. Ans also, importantly, for local news & information, which has been invaluable at times. But I also follow some friends, including online friends, there too.
In all honesty, most of my online time is right here... I manage to get to Facebook nearly daily, but I've been neglecting Twitter a good bit, and Instagram too. It's not by intent, though.
