Your an employer and you're looking for someone to hire. Would you rather have someone trained in a trade school for that job, or someone from the average college with a degree but is more well rounded?
I'll hire a bachelor's degree over a trade school certificate any day.
You seem to be in the minority right now. Can you explain your reasoning? It seems to me that degrees hold less and less value these days.
That may be true for some fields, but it's not true at all when discussing literally any STEM field. Since I'm in a STEM field, that's how I answered. At least a bachelor's is necessary, preferably more. Now, if I owned a plumbing company or some other kind of trade, I would absolutely hire somebody out of a trade school.
For most major STEM fields though doesn't it require a large amount of study and discipline but simultaneously a lot of hands on knowlege or even lab/experimentaion know how? A scientist is very valuable in a lab not as much in a library.
